Some advice to help you in your job hunting efforts.

How to write a résumé?

If you apply for a job, keep in mind that a résumé is your presentation and the first information about yourself you give to your potential employer. Wrongly or badly written CV may dismiss you from the selection process already at the beginning.
Resumé should be brief, structured, clear and preferably written on the computer in length up to two A4 pages.

Here are some helpful tips that you can use when writing your CV:

  • Personnel data – name, surname, possibly title(s), contact information.
  • Education – provide data chronologically from the last graduation (including currently studies) back into the past (elementary school is not included).
          - Name  of the school, period of study, studied subjects, type of final exam.
  • Working experience – sort the data chronologically from actual to the oldest
          - period from-to (month/year),
          - name of the position and main responsibilities,
          - if you did more positions within one employer, provide all the positions under its name,
          - young graduates without any employment history write data about their internships,
          - if you interrupted your career due to maternity leave or loss of a job and the gap is longer than 6 months, put the information into the CV to guarantee time sequence.
  • Other education, seminar, courses – put information only about those which are connected to the position you are applying for.
  • Languages – put languages you are speaking and the level of their knowledge – beginner, intermediate, advanced, mother tongue or indicate you have obtained a certificate.
  • Other skills – indicate skills like driving license, computer skills and other competencies that are important for the position you are applying for.
  • Hobbies – this part is optional.
  • References – write name of people that can tell more about you (former employer, professor at school, do not include your relatives)
  • Picture – if you decide to put your picture, place it in the top right corner. The picture should be color, in ID format and with relevant content.
