Youssef F. A.
Corporate Communications Officer

“My first contact with Societe Generale took place in France, where I was a post-graduate Management student and worked a long internship in operational marketing at a Commercial Operations Department in the Paris area. It was very positive experience, which introduced me to a powerful Group with diverse skills and business lines. On my return to Morocco, the human factor was at the centre of my choice to join Societe Generale: a large scale institution which focuses not only on purely technical and operational concerns, but which also encourages the uniqueness of an individual’s talent, recognising diversity of background and experience. The knowledge that I could progress within a bank that was international and yet had been part of Morocco for over a century led to my choosing Societe Generale. Thanks to the range of roles on offer, I am working on a range of ambitious core projects in internal and corporate communication. Societe Generale’s strength lies in its ability to motivate all its teams around common values, entrusting them with high added value missions and a gradual increase in responsibility.”

Nizar M.
Project Engineer – Projects and Organisation Department

“I joined Societe Generale Maroc straight after graduating from the Mohammedia School of Engineering. It was an obvious choice for me, because of the positive impression I had of my internship with the bank. It had given me the opportunity to appreciate the excellent work environment, as well as the diversity of business lines and the teams' dynamism.
Today, with mentoring from expert Project Managers, I have been able to develop my skills and successfully complete the projects entrusted to me. I have already completed a number of tasks, including a project for paper-free transfers in the field of payment methods and a project setting up a Human Resources Information System for that department.”

Fatima-Zahra K.
Marketing and Communication Intern

“I am currently taking a Master’s in B2C Marketing at the Toulouse Ecole Supérieure de Commerce, which includes a gap year and has allowed me to join the Societe Generale Maroc Communication Department for a 6 month internship, which began in September 2010.
The projects I am working on are genuinely formative and are giving me a cross-disciplinary insight into the communications profession. The Marketing & Communications team have taken all the steps and given me all the resources necessary to help me into my role and enable me to complete the projects entrusted to me successfully.
This experience offered by an organisation of Societe Generale Maroc’s size and depth is a real apprenticeship, on a human as well as professional level.”

Meryem Q.
Branch Manager

“I’m an engineer by training, with a background in industry and service; pure luck brought me to Societe Generale in 2004. I had been assigned to a project in Tangiers, but for family reasons needed urgently to return to Casablanca; the first offer I received was from SGMA.
From the moment of my recruitment, I began to appreciate a business which until then was totally unfamiliar. As a project manager, I played a part in a wide range of banking projects within diverse and rewarding areas of the business. My interest in banking began to grow, alongside my sense of belonging with Societe Generale. In the past I had spent some time in two other banks in the market, as a contractor, and found that Societe Generale Maroc was different, standing out by way of its internal organisation and excellent working environment.
After about six years with the Projects and Organisation Department, it was time for me to experience the bank from another angle: operations. I changed my role and am now the Manager of a large branch in Casablanca. A few months in, I can say that I am enjoying the role, finding it ever more fascinating. I hope to spend the rest of my career with the Bank, and perhaps to work in other divisions too.”
