People Induction and Development

Developing people from the very StartinG

Training and development for talented employees is a part of Société Générale's long-term strategy in Russia. Our philosophy is to improve knowledge and skills primarily through on-the-job training and transfer of internal expertise. We also fully support internal mobility, which is a natural lever for employee development.

Induction

Getting started in a new job is not easy. New responsibilities, new colleagues, lots of new things to learn in a very short space of time. This can be rarely achieved without some form of advice or assistance...

"StartinG", the Group’s professional induction programme, provides support for all new employees during their first few months with the company. This programme was deployed in 2008 in France and in 56 countries, i.e. 201 entities, representing 95% of the Group’s workforce.

It includes:

  • an induction process during the employee’s first few days, designed to introduce the Group, its strategy, professions and values, as well as the employee’s entity and team;
  • a specific intranet providing information and essential key points to provide a better understanding of the company;
  • an e-learning module available in English and French to improve new employees' knowledge of the Group and the banking industry;
  • participation in an induction seminar in an entity, country or business line, and a "Group Induction Day" (it is held on a annual basis in Paris for new employees worldwide).

Training for career development

We provide our employees with various internal and external training programs and courses to expand their skills and qualifications for their existing positions or to prepare for career development within Société Générale group or its Russian entities.

The main areas of education in Russia are:
·    Development of commercial skills (sales skills, primarily)
·    Development of management and soft skills
·    Induction and development programs (induction of new arrivals and special development programs for existing employees)
·    Specialized training (IT, Risk, Finance, Marketing, etc.)

The professional development of employees contributes to the Group's development. Accordingly, at Société Générale, career management is based on close collaboration between employees, managers and HR professionals. Using innovative tools and processes, the Group’s objective is to recognize the skills and performance of each employee and support employees throughout their careers in order to enhance their potential.

Identifying and retaining talents

For us to constantly improve our services and come up with new products, we must provide our employees with sufficient space to develop their potential. By supporting talented employees and developing their skills, we are investing in the future.

Diversity is one of Société Générale’s fundamental principles. The Group in Russia continues to uphold its commitment to promoting talent. Everyone has the possibility of becoming a talent - show us your quality and that you have got what it takes!

The Group HR policies

Our Group HR policies formalise our values and convictions, disseminate HR practices around the world and have enabled us to put in place a "Career Agreement" for all employees.
