Responsibilities

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Finance Department of Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS), is a global organization with local presence, providing the same set of services through global and efficient processes and consistent norms, leveraging on production hubs.

Our Core Missions in the Americas are:

  • Quality and timeliness of GBIS financial statements
  • Assisting GBIS management and all Business Lines in their steering with actionable reports on financial performance and forecasts
  • Independent certification of all financial aggregates, the daily P&L explanation on Market Activities
  • Financial communication
  • Providing expertise on accounting, prudential and tax norms and ensuring the compliance of these norms
  • Managing the Liquidity and Treasury functions
  • Oversee and execute cross-business projects in the financial and regulatory areas

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?

For our Services companies providing support in IT, Infrastructure, Operations, Accounting and Finance, Compliance, Credit Analysis, etc.

Financial Performance Analysis

  1. Define and provide actionable reports and analysis to assist GBIS support functions management in their financial steering
  2. Serve as Point of Contact for all financial aggregates with the regional and local management in Canada. Drive the local performance analysis
  3. Produce, analyze, and certify GBIS costs in Canada. Drive the closing process for local entities, cooperating with Bangalore and New York
  4. Strong coordination with the FPA team in New York as well the Accounts Payables (AP) team in Canada to ensure optimal quality of the production of reports and other input data in the FPA processes

Financial Control

  1. Oversight of Accounting production including Journal entries, financial statements, Consolidation,
  2. Provisioning for Expenses (Payroll, Contractors, etc.) and Costs allocations throughout the organization
  3. Accounting quality controls, mainly Cash reconciliations, Inter-company Payables/Receivables reconciliations, Cash settlements, Ageing, etc.
  4. Re-invoicing to internal clients (US, Europe, Asia)

For our bank subsidiaries group, primary function of this position is:

  1. Responsible for legal entity owning, reporting, and maintaining integrity of financial records
  2. Monthly close process for subsidiaries (journal entry preparation/posting)
  3. Reconciliation/certification of accounts in accordance with firm policies
  4. Preparation of full set of standalone financial statements under local GAAP (including footnote disclosures) and planning/coordination of external audits, as required
  5. Monthly, Quarterly and Annual regulatory reporting for OSFI regulated entity

Skills and Qualifications:

Must Have:

  1. General/Technical Skills: Ability to work independently with tight deadlines, Good analytical and communication skills
  2. Years of Experience 5 years +
  3. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  4. Language(s) English & French

Nice to Have:

  1. General/ Technical Skills: Must be well organized and detail oriented, must be able to perform multiple tasks and adapt to a changing work environment, and must be a team player.
