Responsibilities

We are looking within the AML  team for a Risk Assesment Analyst. You will be part of the Compliance Direction/Financial Crime Compliance/Anti Money Laundering Department which ensures the supervision and reinforcement of the Anti Money Laundering/ Financial Crime Compliance  framework within the Group and improves its operational efficiency. You will be part of an international team situated in Bucharest and Paris and covering the whole SG Group.

  • Risk classification: it aims to identify and prioritize the inherent money laundering - terrorism financing (ML-TF) risks according to five areas of regulatory analysis (country; customer profile; products and services; distribution channels; transactions characteristics). It includes the attribution of risk ratings to respectively countries, industries, and banking products.
  • The Red-Flags Mapping exercise: it extends the risk classification and completes it on the "Transaction characteristics" area. The Red-Flags Mapping identifies the ML-TF red-flags (or ML-TF risk typologies) associated with the business transactions of an entity and the way they are monitored. It prioritizes the identified risk areas and defines corrective actions.
  • Risk cartography (COMPASS): by capitalizing on the first two exercises, COMPASS makes it possible to quantify the main inherent risks and the mitigation measures put in place, in order to assess a level of residual risk, according to a standardized method allowing Group consolidation. COMPASS is based on a self-assessment questionnaire sent every year to all the SG Group entities and analyzed centrally.

The main missions of the Risk Assesment Analyst  vary between our main three pillars of activity:

  1. Risk Classification and Groups rating lists
    • Definition, update and maintenance of Country Rating, Industriy Rating and Product rating, as of their associated methodologies
    • Performing calibrations, testing of updates to methodologies and risk calculations
    • Research and production of memos/synthesis files sustaining risk ratings for countries, or industries,.
    • Monitor the roll-out of the risk classification at Entities level
  2. Red Flag Mapping:
    • Monitoring of relevant publications to identify new trends and typologies related to ML/TF
    • Maintenance and update of the Group Red Flag Library
    • Driving and participating to Entities mapping exercises
  1. Compass Risk Assesment:
    • Definition and update of the Risk Assessment Methodology & Tools,
    • Maintenance of the Anti Money Laundering/ Financial Crime Compliance risk questionnaires, calibration of scoring and rating calculations, and associated tools (ex: simulation tool; analytical restitution of the answers; etc.)
    • Launching of the Risk Assessment Campaign and coordination of the exercise
    • Preparation of Group Synthesis highlighting results of the entities & Business Units.

Profile required

  • You have a strong banking and compliance, risk and/or legal experience, with a focus on Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Finance but you also want to develop compliance knowledge in an international environment.
  • You like taking the lead and working independently, but also working in coordination with multiple stakeholders and you want to develop coordination and project management skills.
  • You have a technical mindset and are at ease with IT tools, reporting and you like to evolve in this field.
  • You like numbers and are familiarized with Risk Assessment techniques, scorecards and like working with Excel.
  • Since you will be working with our central teams, fluent French is required, but don’t worry we also speak English and are offering French courses to develop your skills.
