Responsibilities

In coordination with the respective team members, the scope of responsibility covers:

Events strategy

  • Support in defining Hong Kong Events calendar in line with global guidelines with a structure based on Corporate client events (promoting the bank’s brand and culture), Business client events (promoting the bank’s business expertise and products), Social client events (relationship building without brand or business promotion), and Institutional events (all others)
  • Define and implement the necessary tools to support events activity, in alignment with global tools when applicable: events calendar, attendee and budget management, KPIs and reporting
  • Take briefs and translate objectives into events for Societe Generale’s internal or external audiences 

Events organisation

  • Plan, coordinate and execute internal and external events (in-person/virtual/hybrid) from conception to completion, in coordination with business lines and/or marketing teams for the delivery of client events
  • Orchestrate and manage the relevant internal and external resources and stakeholders
  • Select appropriate vendors in compliance with the sourcing policy and initiate bidding process where relevant
  • Manage budgets and recharges

Events activity monitoring

  • Define events KPI and metrics
  • Follow-up and regular reporting on activity and impact
  • Ensure application of normative framework, including processes, controls, risk management and audits.

The role also implies to assist the other Communication team members in Hong Kong for other communication activities or other locations across Asia Pacific for their events strategy or delivery, as and when required. On-site support at events with some travel can be expected.

Profile required

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, event management, marketing or related disciplines
  • Prior experience in event management in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English (competency in Cantonese/Mandarin is an advantage)
  • Flexible approach with strong relationship and adaption skills: a team player with ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of organisation 
  • Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and project management skills
  • Agile, curious and forward-thinking: ability to question and revisit any action
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience in event tools and platforms is a plus

Department Description

The Communication department of Societe Generale Asia Pacific ensures:

  • The definition and implementation of the communication strategy, in line with Societe Generale group communication and Asia Pacific overall strategy and objectives;
  • The promotion of Societe Generale’s brand, culture, values, and business expertise to its internal and external stakeholders in the Asia Pacific region across the different communication channels;
  • •The support for their communication of its corporate functions and business activities, principally in Financing & Advisory, Global Markets and Investor solutions, Asset Management, and Transaction Banking.

The Communication department consists of a team based in Hong Kong and dedicated teams in key locations: Mainland China, India, Japan, and Singapore for SE Asia. The department is structured around Communication leads to support key areas of focus – Corporate identity & commitments / Business strategy & expertise / Data & Innovation / Corporate & Social responsibility – and Channel experts across the following channels:

  • Editorial & Digital communication;
  • Media relations;
  • Branding & Advertising;
  • Partnerships & Citizenship;
  • Events.
