Application Support Analyst

Responsibilities

Serve as part of team that develops and supports software in an AGILE environment, working on various Front Office fixed income trading applications (including Forex (Cash and Option), Emerging products, Cash Rates, Derivatives and Credit). Provide timely resolution of functional and technical issues and report incidents to the appropriate chain of command. Troubleshoot functional issues in a complex financial environment with various applications and architecture regionally and/or globally. Manage crisis communications to end-user and senior management. Provide functional and technical expertise to produce and promote maintainable and quality solutions, which include documenting system requirements and documenting support run books. Communicate with users (financial professionals, such as Sales, Traders, and FIC Front/Middle Offices) regarding application outages and upcoming events like project releases. Liaise with development and support teams in Bangalore, New York, Montreal, Paris, and London that collaborate on a global IT platform. Use strong communication skills (verbal and written) to respond to end users within timeframe dictated by the severity of the problem, and document and track the problem (including case histories, issues, and action steps). Respect internal information technology (IT) norms, standards and processes. Timely report production and project status to client and IT management. Partner with development teams (New York and Paris) on release and software deployment. Partner with the Global support teams (Paris and Asia) to ensure quality support to our end users. Manage the client relationship with the end user community.

Profile required

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional IT experience analyzing financial products and monitoring financial services industry business processes (including planning, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining IT application platforms for trading operations) to manage derivative product lifecycle workflow and support financial software for market making and order passing on Forex (Cash and Option) and Emerging products. Must also have the following: 3 years of professional experience working with financial professionals (including Sales, Traders, and Middle Offices) to identify IT application needs, identify problems, and develop feasible solutions to technical issues; 2 years of professional experience using scripting languages (including structured query language (SQL, Shell and Python); 2 years of professional experience using Windows Server and Linux Operating systems, Oracle and MSSQL Databases, and using Middleware (including Tibco); 2 years of professional experience using Microsoft Excel; 1 year of professional experience working as part of a global team supporting a global platform; 1 year of professional experience setting up Systems Monitoring tools (including ITRS Geneos) and software deployment tools (including TeamCity and Deployit), and using data analysis tools (including Kibana and Elasticsearch). In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, plus 3 years of professional IT experience analyzing financial products and monitoring financial services industry business processes (including planning, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining IT application platforms for trading operations) to manage derivative product lifecycle workflow and support financial software for market making and order passing on Forex (Cash and Option) and Emerging products.
