Responsibilities

Highly motivating environment, with close contact with several internal and external teams in a very dynamic context. The VIE will be part of the European Securitisation Advisory and Financing for Financial Institutions team in the Global Banking Division based in Milan (Front Office). The team is composed by c.30 people around Europe out of which six are based in Milan. The selected candidate will join the team responsible for origination, advisory, structuring, placement and financing for financial institutions and speculative investors on the performing and non-performing market space across Europe. The team in Milan is flowing NPL Advisory project across Europe, therefore the VIE might be involved in Italian, Iberian, Greek and French transactions.

The VIE's main tasks will be:

  • Support the team in all aspects of securitization transactions
  • Prepare pitchbooks for clients, marketing presentations for investors, term sheets and rating agency materials
  • Analyze portfolio data depending on asset characteristics
  • Analyze new markets and related legal framework
  • Conduct market research and industry review projects for new asset classes / new structures / new jurisdictions
  • Follow-up support for the transactions already in place
  • Develop and maintain databases and automated tools used by the team to track information such as transaction pricing, investor participation, internal compliance, etc.

Internally, the VIE will be in contact with the Asset Backed Products team (70 people in Europe) and will liaise with the other departments of the bank (DCM, Relationship managers, sales and traders, Risk department, Legal department), in order to develop the relevant cooperation, where necessary. Externally, in cooperation with the team, the VIE will enter in contact with lawyers, rating agencies and clients.

The VIE will have the chance to work on one of the most actual topic at European level, being a strong base for future career development in the financial institutions business. He/She will develop technical skills on the analysis of the portfolio, the cash-flow modelling and the securitisation techniques,  sensitivity to risk analysis as well as preparing clear and synthetic presentations and developing knowledge on the negotiation with the client of the relevant documentation

Profile required

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance
  • Quantitative background – ability to work with big data file and databases
  • Financial background
  • IT Skills – proficiency in using Excel, PowerPoint (having some programming skills will be considered as a plus)
  • Fluent in English and French (working proficiency)
  • Some notions of Italian would be a plus, but the candidate will be asked to learn Italian during the VIE experience
  • Any other European language will be considered a plus

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Milan is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact there that your VIE mission could potentially get postponed, depending on the evolution of the health crisis and subjects to the decision made by the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE). In addition, the selected candidate will only be paid upon confirmation from Business France and arrival in the country of assignment.
