Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Providing day to day transaction to assisting the deal team leader to provide best-in-class lending and advisory to the client base
  • Managing internal processes relating to all arranging and advisory business (e.g. updating databases, credit application writing, assisting with legal documentation reviews, and completing relevant internal system-based processes)
  • Staying abreast of developments in the mining, metals and industries sectors as well as current transactions and opportunities in the market
  • Preparing, customising, optimising and maintaining financial models to support advisory and lending mandates, including creating and running complex financial scenarios and sensitivities
  • Analysing projects and counterparties, including conducting relevant due diligences
  • Respecting all relevant compliance practices and other internal requirements in relation to the execution of advisory & lending transactions
  • Assisting the team heads in identifying potential marketing opportunities and preparing pitch material
  • Starting to establish a network of contacts at key clients and prospective clients

Profile required

Profile Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering or Business Studies or a professional financial qualification
  • Post graduate qualifications considered favourably
  • 3-4 years’ relevant experience
  • Understanding of the loan markets, their dynamics and the related instruments
  • Experience in structured financing considered favourably
  • Experience with lending to Chinese counterparties considered favourably
  • Capacity to generate pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients’ needs
  • Capacity to understand, analyse and where appropriate manage risks (credit, conduct, reputational, financial, etc.) for the business line and the organisation and act responsibly in line with SG Group Values, Code of Conduct, and other applicable rules & regulations

Department Description

The global Natural Resources & Infrastructure Group within Societe Generale provides a full range of project finance and advisory services for producers, traders, processors and end-users of energy, metals and minerals as well as public sector through four key platforms: Energy; Mining, Metals and Industries; Trade and Commodity Finance; and Infrastructure.

The Mining, Metals and Industries business line is responsible for the origination and implementation of advisory, structured corporate finance, and project finance to miners, metals producers, and players in downstream industries including recycling and EV batteries. The business line operates internationally with teams based in Europe, Asia Pacific (Hong Kong and Sydney) and the Americas.
