Responsibilities

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Marketing and Product Understanding: develops/has a strong knowledge of STG structures, prepares marketing pitches. Works and exchanges with both Trading and Structuring teams. Partakes to trainings sessions, product presentations and exchange ideas on a frequent basis with other regions, cooperates with other business lines including GLBA.
  • Sales Talent: Initially with help of senior team members but with an objective of reaching autonomy, pitches STG structures, participates to new client recruitment, identifies client needs, establishes relationships with clients and syndication partners, reacts swiftly when an opportunity arises, assumes a large workload.
  •  Due Diligence and Execution: prepares transaction memorandums, understands and identifies potential risks involved, carries out due diligence, takes part in the credit and execution processes in smooth cooperation with legal,  MO, BO, RISQ, structuring and trading, ensures the relevant internal partners have the necessary information to ensure smooth execution.
  •  Ongoing Monitoring: monitors daily the live transactions, updates and ensures that the transactions are well reflected in the follow up tools, and the various booking tools. Attention to detail is required. Cooperates with control and support functions, pays particular attention to the correctness of term sheets and the credit processes.
  • Reporting and Transparency: Reports meetings to different parties involved, enters information on client and meeting into the relevant tools, always taking into account the potential confidentiality of the information.
  •  Compliance: Refers to Sales Handbook. Understands local rules and regulations of his market(s) and complies with all internal guidelines, pre- and post-trade (such as KYC, credit pre-trade check in Riskweb tool, suitability check and process, appropriate and validated marketing documents by relevant stakeholders including Compliance department, appropriate legal documentation and regulatory requirements, SG internal execution and tradingstandards, margin policy, CVA and RAROC guideline, timely and appropriate booking of transactions, pre- and finalconfirmation etc...), but also all the other general business guidelines such as giftand entertainment policy, informationsecurity guidelines and restrictions versus external or internal communication (especially when dealing with anyconfidential or private information, Chinese walled transactions, GILT listed deals…) etc. , and always refers/escalate all potential issues/internal or external incidents to management, COO or Compliance.

Profile required

KEY SKILL AREAS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Experience in corporate finance, derivatives and structured products
  • Economic and financial analysis skills, plus some accounting and legal background
  • Good command of office suite (excel, powerpoint, word) and market intelligence products such as Bloomberg. 
  • Ability to prepare market and company analysis.
  • Attention to detail, hard working, able to work autonomously
  • Language skills: advanced English needed. Chinese is a significant plus, French is a plus.

  • INTERNAL: interactions with RISQ, Legal, Compliance as well as with Trading and ENG/Structuring teams

We are looking for a senior Associate/VP to join Strategic Transaction Group team (HK office), a part of our Equities and Equity Derivatives platform in MARK. In collaboration with senior team members, as a part of the global team, you will be supporting the origination, structuring, execution and management of tailored derivative solutions and financing of equity stakes for new and existing clients.

STG, located on the private side, aims at delivering the strongest expertise in the management of strategic equity stakes, with dedicated solutions for Corporate Clients, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Family Offices and Holding Companies.
STG is a of global team of 20+ professionals, with more than 20 years of history and experience, with a successful track record and a leading positioning.  The STG team has extensive experience in handling complex and non standard projects, and leverages on SG recognised expertise in financial engineering and equity trading.
