Corporate Coverage within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (“SGCIB”) is responsible for managing the Bank’s global business relationships with large U.S. multinational clients.  In New York, the Corporate Coverage team’s primary industry sectors are in the Consumer Products, Industrial and Chemical sectors.  Currently there are approximately 35 such clients, including some of the largest clients of the bank, most are investment grade, and most are well-known Fortune 100 names.


  • As a member of the US Coverage team, you will work directly with the Healthcare and Multinational Corporations (MNC) teams.
  • The Healthcare team is in charge of acting as a single point of contact for the bank with US clients in the growing healthcare sector, while the MNC team is in charge of accompanying European and Asian clients in the United States across sectors.
  • You will be expected to operate at the level of a first-year analyst (functions, skills, etc.). 
  • You will be assisting four senior bankers, across a number of topics including client pitches & presentations, business cases, industry research as well as internal and administrative duties.
  • You will have strong hard and soft skills, support the team from both an analytical and marketing perspective, and will be extremely organized and reliable.

During your VIE mission you will be in charge of these responsibilities :

  • Support four Coverage bankers in developing client presentations, proposals and updates.
  • Assist in the execution of Corporate and Investment Banking transactions, coordinating internal and external resources. 
  • Conduct analysis on client & prospect positioning.
  • Manage administrative duties linked to the Coverage role.
  • Collaborate with other business lines within the investment bank in preparing internal and external marketing presentations.
  • Create and update business cases.

Past experience

  • Broad profiles will be considered
  • Experience in the Financial Industry or in a client facing role is a plus, but not a pre-requisite.


  • Undergraduate degree required.

Technical skills

  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment.
  • First class marketing skills.
  • Fluent in English.

Personal abilities

  • The position requires a self-confident person who is a self-starter; highly motivated and reliable, well organized, has a strong team spirit, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to complete accurate work under significant pressure.
  • Awareness of and experience in working with people with international backgrounds is a plus.
  • Accurately prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines.

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

The VIE in New-York is to begin as soon as possible, but you will need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment.  It will last 18 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states oft eh European Economic Space.  For further information, please see
