  • Responsible for researching and analyzing business functions and system requirements for process workflow design and technical design documentation.
  • Interact with the customer to analyze their need and find solutions. 
  • Creates user stories with relevant acceptance criteria. 
  • Provide user stories to multi-disciplinary teams and define the business-driven acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with PO and detail the features to stories and BA review with PO and confirm that they are in line with the business rules.
  • Develop business cases by working closely with product managers to develop business cases.
  • Discuss with all stakeholders (customer, technical team, and PO) to make sure that there is no gap at any level. 
  • Support Agile practices and encourage the improvement of service
  • Facilitate various Agile processes such as Iteration / Release Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospective, Sprint Review, Daily Stand-up
  • Create low or high-fidelity prototypes accordingly.
  • Provide subject matter proficiency in specific functional area(s) to the assigned Scrum team
  • Faciliate developers to clear functional queries and work with key users/customers to clarify the issue
  • Ensure the development is done as per the requirement 
  • Work with the key users to validate the requirements
  • Upskill on the ITSM products and the best practices and guide the team and the business with the latest changes in the ITSM.
  • Provide high-quality analytical solutions for the key stakeholders
  • To increase the business value, collaborate with the product owner to create the product backlog by using Agile practices 

Profile required

ITSM Business Analyst

  • This position will work on the ITSM (IT Service Management) project that is working to implement a set of tools and processes. This includes various functions such as Configuration Mgt, Change Mgt, Incident Mgt, Problem Mgt, Knowledge Mgt, and Service Catalog.
  • This is not a technical position so we are looking for good comm skills, the ability to work in a large, diverse team, and someone who can own large tasks / small projects. An ITIL background would be very helpful. We are looking for a strong BA who can;
  • Drive and develop requirements, use cases, test plans, implementation plan development (needs to be competent with core skills))
  • Is flexible and can drive resolution to the problem of the day (shows a dynamic side and has an ability to lead)
  • Does not have to be prompted for what I need next (can anticipate and is self-motivated)
  • Has an understanding of the project life cycle (not required, but a major plus considering the documentation required)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidate must have:

  • Significant business analysis or systems analysis experience working in both the business and IT environment
  • Significant professional experience as a business analyst for an enterprise ITIL/ITSM platform
  • Experience defining business problems, creating business strategies, or identifying business opportunities
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, and development methodology
  • Knowledge of and experience with ITIL/ITSM principles and concepts
  • Experience conducting facilitated workshops for requirements analysis
  • Requirement & Test case writing in BDD format
  • Should be familiar in working in Agile team.
  • Good understanding on ITSM Operation reports.
  • Knowledge in SMAX/Service Manager/Service Now.

  • Understanding of technical business area related to the projects taken
  • Expert in conceptual modeling; visualize possible solutions innovatively
  • Excellent proficiency in verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Multitasking ability
  • Ability to critically question to help the team foresee the future problems
  • Ability to file the requirements based on the project
  • Ability to understand the Agile development process
  • Familiarity with requirement techniques such as informal modeling, use cases, user stories. These are the primary techniques used by Agile teams for requirements gathering.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate and translate requirements between technical and business teams
  • Proficient in analyzing complex workflow processes and procedures
  • Willingness to observe and analyze patterns, trends, and correlations in Higher Education, technology, and business practices, and (re)train as necessary to remain current in modern IT service management and business analysis best practices, frameworks, standards, and methodologies


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IT Change Management
  • IIBA-certified Business Analyst certification
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Experience as a business analyst or systems analyst supporting the implementation of ITSM solution.
  • Knowledge of project management and business analysis methodology and software
  • Familiar with complementary IT service management frameworks, such as project management, business analysis, LeanIT
  • French communication (Good to have).
