Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

The Human Resources department is responsible for:

  • Developing GBIS attractiveness as a responsible employer notably in terms of career opportunities, people development, compensation, diversity and working environment.
  • Addressing the larger challenges of Global Banking and Investment Solutions notably in terms of managerial culture, performance management and people engagement.
  • Contributing to GBIS competitiveness by maintaining critical staffing levels and talented profiles.

Supporting GBIS strategy and transformation by accompanying the teams and working on their employability.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

  • Responsible for coordinating and managing the HR department business management activities
  • Ad hoc projects for the UK HR function
  • Liaising and partnering with all Support and Control functions as appropriate and representing HR on Business Management related matters

Summary of responsibilities

Business Management

  • Oversee and coordinate as appropriate audit and inspection responses, gathering appropriate evidence, sense checking and ensuring sensitivity of data and GDPR obligations are adhered to
  • Coordination as appropriate of any audit recommendations on behalf of HR
  • Liaise with Audit to agree agenda and coordinate response including contributing to the quarterly Audit meeting
  • Processing, monitoring, tracking and reviewing HR spend across discretionary accounting lines (i.e. consulting, comms, travel etc.,) and escalating to HR management as appropriate
  • Resolve accounting and finance related issues within scope of role
  • Produce annual financial budget forecasts in conjunction with HR Management, UK Finance and HRCO
  • Responding to ad hoc business management queries as appropriate
  • Review and validate exceptional system accesses on behalf of HR, and engage DCS cybersecurity where necessary
  • Coordinate the department’s annual response to Planethic and other benchmarking surveys
  • Support HR on the management and review of the HR Portal content
  • Support the Manager, HR Governance, Regulation and Risk on regulatory related activities and updates for the department
  • Coordinate meeting to review HR service provision to affiliated legal entities through agreed SLAs, and escalate areas of concern to the relevant service providers
  • Production of adhoc presentation materials such as HR for HR induction pack
  • Management of mandatory training reporting for the platform
  • Coordination and validation of HR Processing documentation
  • Communication and brand coordination for HR
  • Review of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adhoc administrative responsibilities
  • Support and coordinate planning, execution and delivery of projects and change programmes where relevant

Profile required

Competencies 

  • Broad interest in business management with the ability to piece the bits of the puzzle together
  • Strong operational execution as this role is both a “doing” role and a “coordinating” role
  • Regulatory interest/experience, ideally UK
  • Working with Paris HQ – influencing / negotiating
  • Liaison with senior stakeholders (with SMR in mind)
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Communication and Presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Inquisitive mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure/ manage ambiguity
