Responsibilities

Base Salary Range: $135,000 - $400,000
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.

Department Summary:

The MARK AMER Business Management Office (BMO) supports Global Markets activities.  The team is responsible for driving business initiatives, acts as the primary liaison between the Front Office and the different support groups in the bank, and provides a critical service as the champion of business supervision and control. 

Within MARK AMER Business Line BMO group, the EQD BMO team members focus on subset of Equity businesses, ranging from Delta One and volatility principal activities to agency execution and clearing solutions. We are looking for a Business Manager responsible for QMM (Quantitative Market Making) and Indexation perimeters. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Assist business line heads (Trading / Sales) and BMO management with the facilitation of business initiatives and projects, while simultaneously acting as an independent control within the business, mitigating a variety of risks and ensuring smooth operational processing

  • Liaise and be primary contact with resource groups supporting the business, including Operations, Technology, Accounting, HR, Legal, Compliance, Audit and Risk.

  • Assess and monitor operational risk and permanent supervision for various topics including licenses and risk limits

  • Review, challenge and update processes, policies, and procedures

  • Ensure business is operating in a controlled environment and recommend remediation plans for identified weaknesses

  • Oversee the collection and analysis of information technology requirements

  • Conduct business/impact analyses on various business initiatives considering impacts on systems and infrastructure, trading, compliance, and operations.

  • Ensure appropriate communication to project sponsor, project team, technology and accounting management, and other stakeholders.

  • Monitor financial performance, with a particular focus on expense management / cost savings (including broker and exchange fees management)

  • Support and foster automation of processes

  • Participate in the review and implementation of various regulatory and business transformation programs (includes impact analysis and remediation planning)

Profile required

Technical Skills:           

  • Efficient in use of MS Office Suite

  • Knowledge of execution / electronic business

  • Knowledge of VBA / Python programming is a plus

Competencies:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in time sensitive environment

  • Strong presence within complicated and high pace environment

  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workloads

  • Ability to lead projects

  • Work within a team structure

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Experience Needed:

  • The candidate must have at least 7-10 years of experience working in a global financial organization, with leadership responsibilities for a linear desk, as well as have demonstrated capabilities in driving business initiatives involving complex IT and operational considerations.  An understanding of SG internal IT / operational systems and risk processes is a plus.

  • 2 years of professional experience working with the following products:  stocks, equity options, ETF and Equity listed derivatives products.

  • Experience in directly interacting with business line managers and resource-type functions (including Operation, IT, Legal, Compliance, and Accounting) is a plus.

Educational Requirements:

  • The minimum educational requirement for this professional position is a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.  Advanced degree in Business and/or Engineering a plus.

Languages: (Other than English):

  • Being able to speak and read French is a plus.

REQUIRED REGISTRATIONS:

  • Series 7, 63 and 3 a plus.
