Description of the Business Line or Department
The Alternative Trading Systems (ATS) team is responsible for the development of the technology that supports Société Générale’s Global Cash Equity and Listed Derivatives Electronic Trading Business. The primary focus of the team is developing and supporting the Algorithmic Trading and Smart Order Routing capability. This is a business requiring a strong technology platform to support its revenue targets.
The team supports a variety of internal trading desks globally across the various asset classes. Algorithmic trading, particularly in the Listed Derivatives product space, is seen as a growth area for SG, and a stable, progressive technology platform is a key business differentiator.
Summary of the key purposes of the role
· Undertake the design and development of some of the key software components
· Manage the delivery of high-quality software into the production environment in a timely and low-risk manner
· Ensure development and delivery adheres to all relevant team, IT and company standards

· Providing second-line support where necessary and developing tools to simplify the tasks undertaken by the first-line support team
Profile required
Competencies
· Knowledge of exchange traded products (Cash Equity / Futures)
· Advanced C#, including multithreading
· Ownership - taking accountability for actions and decisions
· Delivery focused - ability to meet deadlines
· Open and collaborative; keen to share experience and encourage others to do likewise
· Comfortable in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
· Message based middleware (Informatica, RabbitMQ, Tibco)
· Sql and NoSql datastores (PostgreSQL, MS Sql Server, Redis)
· WPF, including third party grid components (Infragistics, DevExpress)
· Continuous Delivery practices and tools including Git, Nuget, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform
Work Experience
· Proven track record of project delivery in a Front Office environment
· Experience of exchange traded products, e.g. Cash Equities and Futures
· Experience of delivering robust, maintainable, high-performance C# components within a service based environment
· Experience of working in a dynamic environment, utilizing Agile methodologies
Education
Degree level, preferably in a relevant discipline.
