As part of the pre-trade IT department, the Exotic Commando team is in charge of the development and support of all the pricers, Risk Analysis & PnL tools of the Exotic rate derivatives and fixed income trading desks and financial engineers of MARK/FIC/EXO.

The team provides an agile development capability to develop front-office solutions quickly for various US-based small to medium sized projects.

This team of 4 people is part of a global development team (12 persons globally) for the FIC activities and develops on a global platform, the team is based on the dealing room and manages applications deployed in London, New York and Asia.

More specifically, the NY development team is in charge of developing and supporting tactical tools such as: market risk hedging, OTC and listed products rate volatility calibration, real-time market data repository for Fixed Income pricing, trading indicator reports.

Primary tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Building applications for structured product businesses
  • Ensuring all data and flows between other trading and settlement applications are maintained
  • Managing each initiative given by management from start to end, meaning:
    • Work with the FIC Exotic traders to understand their needs and translate requirements into systems
    • Work closely with the Quant team in order to improve the pricing models for local currencies
    • Be responsible for the support of the desk
    • Propose designs and implement the project accordingly
    • Ensure agile and continuous delivery methodology is followed
    • Ensure code is well tested
    • Ensure that release management / change management processes are followed
    • Migrate legacy Excel Based pricers to the target framework (C# and/or Python based) and participate to the evolution of the framework
    • Deploy and adapt existing European and Asian tools and work closely with our teams abroad.
    • Collaborate with others teams (networking, systems, quality insurance, support, architects, others development teams..)
    • Improve existing processes in order to reduce support time.
    • Maintain pricing tools, optimize usage, monitoring
    • Give clear and consistent reports to the clients and management
    • Ensure business requirements are met
    • Rely on IT best practices to improve quality of development

Profile required

  1. Competencies


Good written & verbal communication skills, appropriate to a given audience, (technical, functional, etc.), ability to communicate to a wide range of clients and support staff (traders, middle office, developer…)

    • Experience in financial products (Fixed Income area) / financial industry business processes / trading system
    • Strong knowledge in risk analysis and pricing
    • Analytical and algorithmic skills
    • Rigorous, dynamic, detail oriented, fast learning capacity and able to work in a high pressure environment, able to manage multiple tasks in parallel

The Global Business Service Unit (“GBSU”) department has worldwide responsibility for supplying Global Banking and Investor Solutions (“GBIS”) with all the technology and operations resources necessary for them to function under competitive conditions in terms of technological standards, service quality and cost.

The GBSU technology division is responsible for front-office systems development globally, supporting trading activity in America, Europe and Asia. The New York team supports the rapidly growing New York trading desks with a combination of in-house and vendor systems.
