Responsibilities

Base Salary Range: [$104,000 - $300,000] 
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

Seeking senior market maker in CAD Rates STIR/Swaps with FX Swap and financing experience. Candidate will be expected to:

  • Add value to the SG Rates & FX franchise by growing our market share with key clients
  • Manage risks associated with trading portfolios in a disciplined and alpha-generative manner within all
  • SG approved limits & frameworks
  • Evaluate market conditions, economic data and financial information to identify and manage market
  • trends and trading opportunities
  • Provide insightful and valuable commentary, trade ideas and market color with SG salesforce and
  • engage directly with clients
  • Work closely with IT, quant, and algorithmic trading teams to ensure appropriate functioning of pricing, risk management and hedging tools 

Profile Required

Competencies and Experience

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated strength in analytical skills associated with yield curve models, pricing techniques, risk
  • analysis common to Rates & FX portfolios, and solid understanding of mathematics
  • Strong market knowledge of CAD and USD Rates and G10 FX STIR
  • Solid understanding of macroeconomics, economic relationships and dynamics
  • Proven ability to translate trading concepts into IT-friendly language to help facilitate projects

Competencies:

  • Client-oriented market making track record with good established relationships and understanding of
  • client needs
  • High-achiever, driven to exceed expectations and with the highest personal standards in regards to
  • integrity and confidentiality
  • Good communication skills, able to navigate various situations with sales and other internal trading
  • desks to identify revenue-generative opportunities and potential risks
  • Highly collaborative - an open individual who can work successfully with multi-disciplinary, multinational teams

Experience Needed:

  • 5-10yrs of experience market making in a global bank

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering, Finance, Economics, Physics, a related field or the equivalent thereof.

  • Price and manage the CAD Swaps & STIR desk using cash bonds, futures, and swaps
  • Liaise and communicate with sales teams to produce and present trade ideas
  • Compete appropriately and effectively on all e-trading platforms to maintain hit ratios, market share and profitability
  • Provide timely commentary & analysis of events affecting relevant markets
  • Collaborate with quantitative developers to develop trading tools and systems to help SG become more efficient in pricing and managing risk
  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis to create trusted relationships and increased market share
