Responsibilities

The Financial Planning and Analysis specialist overall objective is to apply analytical thinking/knowledge of data analysis methodologies to create and analyze reports that gauge SG Americas alignment with forecasted performance.



Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Drive forward looking processes including forecasts, strategic/operating plans, monthly outlooks, and review results
  • Perform analysis and deliver presentations related to the financial performance of SG Americas and its competitors to senior management,
  • Day to day interaction with the head of the business unit, on every financial matters
  • Frequent ad hoc analysis,
  • Provide insight and guidance to other Finance teams, Operations, IT, Risk,
  • Answer to external auditors, regulators and tax authorities.

Profile required

Experience Needed:

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant work in the financial services industry

Qualifications

  • Experience within financial services
  • Famliarity with financial statements (e.g. revenue, balance sheet, RWA, etc.)
  • Fundamental knowledge on financial instruments (e.g. derivatives, options, repos, etc.)
  • Experience providing financial analysis for monthly forecasts, strategic multi-year forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Team player

Technical Skills

  • Ability to to build complex spreadsheets (e.g. inputs vs outputs, large datasets, well-organized)
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge in additional systems including Essbase and Cognos
  • Strong ability in data analytics,

Education

  • Bachelor Degree (Business, Finance or Economics preferred)
  • Master’s degree preferred
