Responsibilities

As a member of the new EMEA CMS Trade Surveillance team in Casablanca, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure surveillance of trade activities conducted through Société Générale on major European capital markets using the firm’s monitoring tools
  • Ensure timely and high-quality processing of potential market abuse alerts
  • Ensure follow-up/ Investigation of key identified issues and assist in remedial and resolution thereof
  • Work collaboratively with other Global CMS surveillance team members, advisory Compliance officers and other key stakeholders and build synergies regarding key topics
  • Maintain up to date CMS policies and procedures in line with regulatory changes (EU / FCA)
  • Proactively and timely escalate issues to management

Profile required

We welcome applications from experienced candidates as well as fresh graduates in finance, audit, capital markets, controls with:

  • Fluency in French and English 
  • A keen interest and good understanding of financial markets and subsequent regulatory impacts 
  • Highly analytical approach regarding performed surveillance and contribution to platform and process enhancements/development objectives
  • Accurate record keeping and ability to manage and prioritize multiple review requirements
  • Absolute discretion regarding highly sensitive information
  • Good analytical, writing, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Broad understanding of Investment Banking Activities including, but not limited to Private/Public side functions      

Other skills:

  • Basic skills in office software (mastering of VBA would be a plus)
  • Someone with an innovative mindset – who can think ‘outside of the box’ but collectively, understands standard BAU
  • A quick learner – keen to understand regulation, markets and internal/external technology solutions
  • A team player

CMS has a specific mandate relating to monitoring and surveillance of market activities.
