Cash Equity Execution

The position is a Middle Office role for the Cash Equity and Execution (CEE) business, focusing on settlement; This team is part of the GBSU-EQD/Channels and Execution team in charge to support the CEE business from an ITEC and Operation stand point. Our main internal partners are Traders, Sales and ITEC as well as SG Back Office (AMER, ASIA and Europe), note that the function required to liaise with external clients as well.

The position involves vigilance and critical monitoring of risk and PnL impacts of trade Capture and life cycle processing, ensure consistency of operational reporting. Implementation of Operational risk mitigation plan(s) provide high quality experience to clients (act as liaison between back office and clients for settlement discrepancies, trade matching and ad-hoc matters)

Within this role you will participate in the firm’s global transformation initiative and provide high quality operational services to internal stakeholders and clients, alike. In this scope you will be expected to demonstrate the qualities of client focus, tram spirit, innovation, integrity and professionalism.

Main accountabilities are:

Fails and trade matching management for US clients trading globally, as part of the Trade Support team the role consists in:

    • Work with the off-shore team to make sure the fails and unmatched reports are produced in a timely manner and distributed daily to the clients
    • Quarterly tests in producing the above reports in case of an outage of the off-shore team
    • Communicate with clients’ back office and Middle office to solve fails: investigate discrepancies, propose solutions
    • Close communication with the 3 regional back offices of SGCIB (USA, UK and Asia) as well as the 3 regional TSU(MO) teams
    • Liaise with the trade capture team (MO in NY office) and ask for amendments of trades when deemed necessary
    • Help Front Office with ad-hoc settlement requests

Profile Required

  • Competencies


    • Understanding of Equity products and trade life cycle and settlement processes (CNS, DTC, EUROCLEAR, CEDEL, Local Markets)
    • FIDESSA knowledge or any Order Management System
    • BROADRIDGE knowledge or any BO platform
    • Analytical skills
    • Dynamic, detail oriented, fast learning capacity and able to work in a high-pressure environment
    • Good written and oral communication

Desired/ Plus:

    • Experience in financial products (Fixed Income) / financial industry business
  • Technical skills


    • Basic Excel proficiency

    • Python knowledge

Prior Work experience


  • Previous significant experience as a Middle Office in an investment banking environment (at least 3 years)
  • Education


  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
