Acting as a transversal expert across both STR Closing and Servicing teams, the position will focus on overseeing and supporting the Structured Finance department to ensure the performance and the efficiency of the perimeter.

As such, the main tasks of the STR transversal Expert are:

  • Provide technical assistance to help the STR Closing and Servicing teams and build the team expertise
  • Contribute to the improvement of AMER processes and the convergence of STR processes in a worldwide basis: data quality, payments, events management, convergence of main indicators, etc.
  • Ensure proper process documentation and training of the teams
  • Assist the production teams as required
  • Be the main point of contact on STR Roadmap: Funding project, Accounting convergence, regulatory projects

In more details, the STR transversal expert role will be to:

  1. Monitor the chain on the processes belonging to the Structured Finance department

    • Ensure the data quality and proper control framework of the chain and proactively identify and resolve incidents and process gaps

    • Work on the convergence of processes and controls with Paris STR and PNC teams

  • Ensure close collaboration across the various departments (Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Treasury, IT teams) locally and globally
  • Act as a liaison for all stakeholder issues and requests
  • Operate as the preferred point of contact/Subject Matter Expert for projects or change-the-bank (CTB) requests, both locally and globally, attend all relevant committees
  • Work in close collaboration with senior management to improve the efficiency of the STR processes

  1. Drive the continuous improvement of the STR closing and servicing team

  • Develop and maintain operating procedures
  • Provide regular trainings to the STR department, as well as to the IT teams supporting the funding systems
  • Ensure the training of new joiners, to ensure their understanding of SG tools and processes
  • Work closely with the STR manager to ensure the team abides by guidelines / best practices to prevent late bookings

  1. Provide assistance to the STR manager in monitoring the performance of the STR Closing and Servicing processes performance and data quality

  • Participate to the enhancement and maintenance of the department’s monitoring and control framework

  • Oversee the various technical controls and reports within the department’s IT systems

  • Proactively identify inefficiencies or potential areas of operational risk


    Due to the situation on Funding processes and monitoring, the priority for 2020 will be to operate as an expert on funding related topics and across the bank’s various internal funding IT systems.

    The second challenge will be to work with operational teams on securing processes and increasing team skills.

  1. On Funding processes in particular, the main responsibilities are to:

  • Monitor the funding chain from an operational and IT standpoint

  • Act as gatekeeper to all funding controls along the chain

  • Identify potential inefficiencies and implement operational improvements

  • Monitor STR performance and data quality KPIs, in coordination with the STR manager and the global STR teams

  • Liaise with IT and Operations global teams to define, prioritize and implement improvements

  • Ensure the training of the teams (Closing, Servicing, IT support) to ensure their understanding of the set-up and close monitoring in terms of funding

    The candidate must possess the ability to drive the continuous improvement of the team across all fronts, and the ability to enhance the quality and consistency of the team’s efforts to support the business.

Profile required

Prior Work Experience

Required/Must have:

  • Knowledge of loans and deposits flows, especially on the funding chains/IT systems
  • Experience with complex financial chains, ability to understand data flows through multiple systems
  • Capacity to analyze/investigate issues
  • Prior experience designing operational procedures, maintaining KPI/KRI metrics, and facilitating trainings
  • Change management experience

Technical Skills

Required/Must have:

  • Knowledge of the LoanIQ IT system
  • Familiarity with IT terminology and concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of Structured Finance (products, terminology, workflows)


  • Knowledge of IT systems downstream of LoanIQ (Xone, etc.)

  • Comfort and confidence when interacting with senior management
  • Self-motivated, proactive, with ability to delegate, organize, and multi-task
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, time management, and collaborative skills


  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a project management capacity

  • Knowledge of payment circuits and cash management
