Responsibilities

Within Compliance , the purpose of the WSB/REG/MIS team is to oversee Management Information, Business Intelligence, and data mining for the scope of Wholesale Banking activity, with a primary focus on Regulatory Surveillance which includes Surveillance of Market Trading activity, Communications of Traders/Sales/Research, and Control Room activites.

The MIS function supports the management by providing global reporting on the activity, allowing the management to monitor and steer the activity. The Analyst works on projects work to improve the MI process and to provide new Business intelligence to users.

The Analyst is also responsible for the monthly production of MI (Management Information ) including reports publication, consolidating / preparing the input file.

Within the team, responsibilities are distributed in “extended team” mode between offshore (3 FTE) and onshore (2 FTE) based on skills, personal interests and motivation within the team, priorities are managed with an Agile organization.

Primary Responsibilities 

1) In charge of the production of the reporting Management Information pack as well as all other monthly and quarterly reporting work, maintain the schedule and to prepare the input files, interact with users regarding questions, quality issues.

2) In charge of Projects : to further automate the reporting process, identify new business intelligence needs, clarify new needs with users, integrate new data points, design new dashboards using TABLEAU for the users via self-service TABLEAU web interface.
3) Take ownership of Adhoc responsibilities/projects and Adhoc queries from the business

4) Ensure to maintain and keep the standard operating procedures for all the reports and other documentation up to date

5) Respect for the importance of governance around reporting framework

6) Cooperate and support the management in implementation of any other initiative that may arise during the course of the year on Business Intelligence and Data Mining.

Secondary Responsibilities 

1) Ability to work independently to tight monthly deadlines

2) To understand the end to end process flow : Functional understanding of the business is mandatory to be successful in this role. It is key for the BI analyst to have an understanding of the Wholesale banking activity, and the Regulatory surveillance activity, or at least to have an appetite to learn about it during the onboarding process. Prior knowledge of Wholesale banking is a plus in the recruitment criteria.

3) To understand the operational risks and controls related to the Management Information process, with a emphasis on confidentiality, management of sensitive data, and data quality topics.

Profile required

Experience – 4 - 6 years

Technical Competencies:

1) Experience of creating visualization, designing dynamic dashboard with interactive and drilldown filters using a BI tool (preference for TABLEAU)

2) Identifying patterns and meaningful insights from data by analyzing it

3) Finding the key areas of automation to make the business processes smooth

4) Managing tableau server and to maintain the user profile and folder access

5) Synthesize and translate business requirements into creative visuals.

6) Experience on MS Office Suite and able to use this knowledge effectively at work

7) Understanding of Agile methodology (Any type of agile approach is acceptable, knowledge of JIRA board management is a plus)

Functional Competencies:

  1. Knowledge on Compliance and Banking domain is a plus (or motivation to learn)
  1. Understanding of Trades, Financial products and markets is a plus (or motivation to learn)
  1. Interest in learning about the Capital markets surveillance function is a plus (or motivation to learn)
