The Central Compliance team oversees the personal account dealing and outside business activities process, and supports the gifts, entertainment and meals management process.

During your VIE mission you will be in charge of these responsibilities:

  • Understand and be able to assist fellow employees with relevant departmental policies and processes.
  • Administer surveillance of employee personal account dealing, outside business interests and private investments.
  • Communicate policy and procedural breaches to employees as well as to participate in escalation processes.
  • Assist in the development of changing technologies supporting the team, including UAT testing.
  • Acting as a liaison between the team and outside brokerage firms that transact with employees.
  • Communicate with other country  counterparts throughout the market region, as well as with the home office. 
  • Work with connected departments such as the Control Room, Captital Markets Surveillance and the Electronic Communications groups.
  • Assist with internal audit and regulatory reviews.

Profile required


Graduated from a Bachelors degree, specialization in Finance a plus 
Previous experience in banking or other financial services is a plus
Fluent in English


  • Strong Communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office (e.g. Excall, Word and Powerpoint
  • Strong analytical skills

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Montreal is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.

In addition, the selected candidate will only be paid upon confirmation from Business France and arrival in the country of assignment.
