Description of the Business Line or Department

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has been active in Ireland for 20 years and is a leading player in servicing Irish domiciled and offshore collective investment vehicles. We act locally as fund administrator and depositary for a wide range of international clients who manage schemes from UCITS to AIFs including private equity and real estate structures, hedge funds and special purpose vehicles

Summary of the key purposes of the role

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the Compliance Officer is responsible for Compliance matters on  Anti-Money Laundering & Terrorism Financing (AML & TF), Sanctions & Embargoes, Suspicious Transaction, Corruption, Conflict of Interest, Fraud, Ethics & Conduct, GDPR, Clients & Investors’ protection, etc. and for some Know your customer (KYC) duties. They will gain an understanding of the day-to-day requirements within the compliance area and have the opportunity to liaise with various stakeholders. As the candidate progresses they will have the opportunity to become involved in more tasks and further develop their knowledge and experience.

Summary of responsibilities

Compliance:

·      Assist in the performance of compliance controls for SG Dublin entities (second line of defence);

·      Provide support to compliance management in the reporting to central departments and to the French & Irish regulators as required;

·      Provide support to compliance management in ensuring that SG Dublin entities are compliant with SG Group procedures (on fraud, alerts, KYC, sanctions and embargoes, ABC etc);

·      Provide advice and guidance to management and staff regarding internal procedures and the interpretation of, and adherence to, relevant legislation and regulation;

·      Analyse, interpret and implement existing and new laws and regulations (e.g. AML Directive, KYC, Data protection, Sanctions & Embargoes …), monitor changes to business practices and advise line management of relevant implications;       

·      Assist in the training of staff on compliance subjects such as AML, KYC, suspicious transactions, and;

·      Provide support to compliance management in ensuring that a comprehensive compliance monitoring programme is in place and effectively undertaken and that relevant issues are effectively reported to management;

·      Conduct reviews of procedures;

·      Manage ad-hoc projects/requests.

KYC:

·      Conduct review and or analysis of higher risk clients & investors;

·      Perform quality assurance testing on KYC files;

·      Manage ad-hoc projects/requests.


Profile Required

Competencies

·      Knowledge of Funds Industry and/or Compliance/KYC.

·      Good communication and interpersonal skills.

·      Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

·      Strong analytical skills with an ability to multitask.

·      Team player but also able to work on own initiative.

WORK EXPERIENCE

·      1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, or in a related field.


EDUCATION

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree required.

LANGUAGES

·      Fluent English essential; knowledge of French language an advantage
