Global Transaction & Payment Services (GTPS) provides Corporate Clients, Financial Institutions, SG entities and SG Business Lines with a wide range of payment products and services, such as USD payments, Corporate Cash Management Services, Check services, Foreign Exchange Conversions and Standby Letter of Credit. 
GTPS New York is composed of three Business Lines:  USD Cash Clearing Services (GTPS/BAN), Payment and Cash Management Services (GTPS/PCM) and Trade Finance (GTPS/TRA). GTPS New York team of 40 employees includes Management, Chief Operating Office (COO), Front Office, Client Service & Sales Support team.
At Societe Generale New York, you will be joining the COO team, which provides transversal support to all business activities in GTPS New York.

During your VIE mission you will be in charge of these responsibilities :

  • Work closely with the COO team on the various tasks within the Risk, Governance and Controls perimeter 
  • Provide support to the front office, the client service/middle office teams with answering regulatory/business/ internal inquiries
  • Contribute to the management reporting tasks and propose solutions to further automate and streamline the process
  • Assist with performance of periodic business controls 
  • Enhance the existing catalog of policies and procedures
  • Perform various ad-hoc requests and analyses

Profile required

Your profile

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance / Economics
  • Previous experience in Banking/Financial industry, in particular Global Transaction Banking is a plus, but not required
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and writing communications skills in English
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Pro-active team player
  • Time management and planning skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fluent in English

The VIE assignment in a nutshell


This VIE in New-York is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that your VIE mission could potentially get postponed, depending on the evolution of the health crisis and subjects to the decision made by the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE). In addition, the selected candidate will only be paid upon confirmation from Business France and arrival in the country of assignment.
