Responsibilities

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Within the Global Banking and Advisory (“GLBA”) department the Credit Management Group (“CRE”) acts as the credit analysis team for GLBA and other business lines within the Global Banking and Investor Solutions (“GBIS”) division. As the credit department within GLBA, CRE analysts work closely with Senior Bankers, Relationship Managers, and business lines to facilitate the on boarding of prospective clients, assure credit facilities are properly booked, documented and renewed timely, and generally to assure business opportunities are not missed.  The CRE Credit Analyst Associate will work under the supervision of a Director - Senior Credit Analyst and will be part of a team responsible for managing a loan portfolio comprised of large US corporates and subsidiaries of non-US groups in diversified industries. The analyst will be responsible for preparing credit analyses, participating in legal documentation, and on-going portfolio monitoring under the supervision of the Senior Credit Analyst. The main responsibilities include:

  • Preparing high quality credit applications and annual reviews of counterparties to assess their credit quality and repayment capability including financial statements analysis and assessment, a review of the strategy, business risk, industry dynamics, competitive environment
  • Preparation of financial projections under various scenarios
  • Recommending credit limits and related terms and conditions
  • Proposing Obligor Risk Ratings
  • Monitoring compliance with covenants
  • Assisting with legal documentation (i.e. credit agreements, ISDA, CSA)
  • Liaising with other CRE teams in Europe and Asia, business lines, Bankers, legal & compliance, operations, and Risk department

Profile required

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles
  • Good understanding of commercial and investment banking products
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Strong written and oral communicate skills;

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 4-5 years as credit analyst in a corporate and investment banking entity or related field

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree required

LANGUAGE

  • English – strong written and spoken required
  • French /Spanish language skills a plus
