Responsibilities

The RISQ Division's mission is to contribute, through its expertise, understanding of risks, risk management techniques, and by providing effective challenge to the business lines, to the sustainable and predictable growth of the SG Group.



RISQ Americas is looking to build out an inhouse data quality capability and is looking to hire Analyst or Associate Level Junior Data Management Analyst (“DMA”) to ensure compliance with BCBS 239 for RISQ Americas. The DMA will support Data Domain Owners and Subject-Matter Experts across RISQ Americas and Head office in all phases of BCBS239 data management program with partnership with Americas Regional Data Management Office (RDMO), RISQ Data Management Office and IT departments (GBSU and BSC).



In particular, the DMA will directly support RISQ Americas Data Domain Owner and RISQ Data Stewards in the annual certification process of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) by assessing business metadata, data lineage and associated data quality controls and teir automation. Where required, the DMA will perform additional data lineage and update meta data. 

  

RISQ DMA is an evolving role and is expected to contribute to the global RISQ data management strategy by collaborating with technology, operations, and other cross-organizational control functions.



The Junior DMA position will require quantitative and technical skills for data reporting and analysis.

Prior involvement project management from user’s perspective, especially innovation projects, preferred. Knowledge of data management main principles and regulations is a plus. Strong appetite to learn Credit Risk, use Referential Data, IT architecture.



 

Day to Day Responsibilities:



  • Support Data Domain Owners or Data Stewards in RISQ Americas in all phases of data management program
  • Help execute annual recertification process of CDE data lineage and meta data with leveraging on the off-shoring team
  • Liaise with Risk managers, IT partners and data managers to understand Data Quality Issues; prepare root causes analysis, prepare materiality study, propose and execute remediation plans
  • Implementation of Data Quality controls :
    • As described in the metadata certification
    • Provide relevant assistance for developing the business requirements and following the automated controls implementation
  • Implement data quality management KPIs
  • Secretary of the Data Management Committee chaired by SGUS Chief Risk Officer
  • Lead remediation efforts with specific finance functional areas
  • Interface with Regional Data Management Office for updates to standards, policy and procedures
  • Collaboration with technology partners (IT and Digital Office) to implement Data Strategy and remediation
  • Participate to Data management, innovation and automation projects

Profile required

Description of the skills/knowledge/expertise:



  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
  • Experience in a coding language (eg: Python, R)
  • Experience using data visualization and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience in writing and tuning SQL
  • Strong appetite to learn Credit Risk, use Referential Data, IT architecture.
