Data Management Business Analyst (Associate)
RESPONSIBILITIES
DIVISION DESCRIPTION
Independent from the Business Lines, the Risk and Compliance Departments Management (together the LOD2 Division) mission is to contribute to the development of the SG Group's activity by facilitating the Business Lines’ objectives while maintaining independent oversight, risk evaluation, challenge and monitoring. Our LOD2 team in the Montreal supports all the activities in the Americas Region (US, Canada and Latin America), which is almost exclusively corporate and investment banking oriented.
The COO team of our LOD2 Division is responsible for the Data management which is one of the critical functions aiming at managing the data that is used by Risk analyst/experts and management for quantitative analysis and decision making.
The COO team is looking to hire a Data Management Business Analyst to work along with our Risk and Compliance teams in the Americas region to ensure Data Management requirements are met. This person will liaise with Data Domain Onwers, Domain Data Stewards (DS) and a team of Data Steward Assistant (DSA) to manage our critical data elements and associated initiatives, and ensure adherence to our global and regional data governance policies and principles. The role will report to the Head of Data Management for LOD2 in the Americas (Risk and Compliance).

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must Have:
Domain knowledge and prior experience data management standards
Data management expertise in defining Metadata, Quality and Lineage for critical data elements
Experience with tools that are used in Data Analytics. (Advanced Excel, Power BI, SAS, VBA, SQL, Data Inventory and Governance tools)
Partner with business and technology to identify data flows and golden sources
Identify gaps in data flow of manual processes and controls
Manage collaboration with technology, operations, and other cross-organizational control functions
Attention to details and accuracy
Go-getter attitude
Partner with technology and digital transformation teams to enhance our tools and processes
Good understanding on the Banking Standards & regulations pertaining Banking Data (BCBS239)
Understanding of risk management practices in financial firms
