MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Societe Generale Australia IT team supports the local infrastructure, applications and users. The position involves working closely with listed derivatives traders and remotely with IT teams across various locations (US and Asia Pacific). A desktop support & infrastructure engineer is required to support Societe Generale Australia’s infrastructure, critical applications, end users and clients. The engineer will also be required to coordinate remote skilled teams on infrastructure projects and maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:
  • End users support (desktop, applications)
  • Local infrastructure support and maintenance as local relay for remote skilled teams (Network, Voice, Digital Workplace, Servers etc.)
  • Local infrastructure cost/budget management
  • Request and Incident management
  • Infrastructure projects coordination
  • Liaising with third-party providers and vendors
  • BCP/DR planning
  • Datacenter management (issues, review and planning)

Profile


KEY SKILL AREAS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills (clear, concise) at all levels of the organization
  • Strong customer focus, establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders and 3rd parties
  • Flexible, adaptable and pro-active 
  • Infrastructure support skills (Desktop, Server, Telephony etc…)
  • Trade Floor support (preferred but not essential)
  • Able to work independently without supervision
  • High level of accountability
  • Able to work and maintain relationship with remote teams
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Windows 7 / 10, Active Directory, TCP/IP, File/Print services, ACL, policy etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products (Office 365, Windows 10)
  • Desktop / Laptop technical knowledge
  • Knowledge in real time data feed and trading applications such as Bloomberg, Fidessa, TT, Exchange and Brokers - (preferred)
  • Knowledge of IP, Trading and Mobile Telephony - (preferred)


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years’ experience in desktop & infrastructure support. Application support skills desirable.
  • Experience in Finance industry is desirable
  • ITIL certification (preferred but not essential)

We are currently looking for a Desktop Support & Infrastructure Engineer to join us.
