The VIE will work within the "OpenIT" team, which intervenes on IT projects building bridges between commando developments (python, quick & dirty) and industrial IT (cycle of several years) on behalf of risk analysts, trading or the financial department.

The VIE's mission will be to deliver solutions with a reduced time-to-market by focusing on simplifying the subjects, benefiting from the proximity of the business and relying on a "Low Code" platform developed in internal startup mode. In addition, he/she will contribute on innovation projects, hackathons, training programs as well as communities of practices within MSC.

During your VIE mission you will be in charge of these responsibilities:

  • Collect the needs and specifications for the functionalities to be implemented.
  • Develop the necessary automation, data management and data visualization tools.
  • Set up, test and deliver the functionalities according to our standards.
  • Ensure a technological watch and demonstrate an interest for the business with which we collaborate.
  • Support business teams in the implementation of use cases or carry out the implementation by relying on internal platforms (Big Data, PaaS)) exposing Python or SQL code.
  • Analyze the existing controls and tasks on this perimeter in order to automate and / or optimize them.
  • Develop existing tools and / or create new tools for the implementation of these performance indicators and controls.

Profile required

Profile

Graduate from Engineering school, Business School or University with a master degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

  • Very good knowledge of Python.
  • Good knowledge of SQL.
  • Understanding of Agile and CI/CD concepts.

You are fluent in English.

You are proficient with Microsoft Office.

A plus

  • Good knowledge of Hadoop stack: Spark, Hive, Parquet.

  • Knowledge of Cloud concepts and providers (preference for Azure).

  • Knowledge of a BI tool (preference for PowerBI)

  • Knowledge of Hashicorp suite (Consul, Vault).

  • Knowledge of DevOps tools (Jenkins, Kubernetes, Airflow).

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Montreal is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact there that your VIE mission could potentially get postponed, depending on the evolution of the health crisis and subjects to the decision made by the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE). In addition, the selected candidate will only be paid upon confirmation from Business France and arrival in the country of assignment.
