The technology departments of Societe Generale AMER are going through a metamorphosis: we're embracing the cloud! Cloud computing is new and exciting for us, representing an amazing opportunity but an amazing challenge as well. The way we've built applications for decades is going to change, and we need leaders and technologists to help drive that change.

During your VIE mission you will be in charge of these responsibilities:

You main responsibility will be to work with app teams in order to help them adapt their code and methodology to the cloud. As you grow in your position, we will support you to find and nurture your strengths.

In addition you will work with the cloud architecture team as they:
  • Support the migration of existing apps to the cloud
  • Support the creation of new apps in the cloud
  • Train the next generation of developers and managers on the cloud
  • Build and maintain the toolset around the cloud

Profile required

Profile

• Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Technology
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Proficient/Good command of MS Office
• Fluent in English
• Experience and/or education with as many of these technologies as possible: 
  • Java and/or .Net
  • Modern security practices
  • knowledge of cloud native application blueprints
  • Git
  • SQL
  • CI/CD (Jenkins)
  • Linux
  • Windows
  • Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Montreal is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact there that your VIE mission could potentially get postponed, depending on the evolution of the health crisis and subjects to the decision made by the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE). In addition, the selected candidate will only be paid upon confirmation from Business France and arrival in the country of assignment.
