Summary of Key Purposes of the role:

The role of the Digital Workplace Services (DWS) Communication officer is to facilitate our end users adoption of the Digital workplace services and tools by actively promoting and communicating their availability, benefits and usages. The purpose is to enable users the right level of information to get the best value from our services and improve their own productivity.

The role is divided into four main categories

Promotion and awareness of our services: Promote the availability, benefits and usages of our services, using multiple communication channels and mediums. Actively seek to identify users information needs and fulfill those.


Communication and design: Manage end user communications, including design and content. Act as a consultant and facilitator for communication needs within the DWS team. Assist DWS management in the design of presentations and marketing materials that are given to the business.


Community manager: Act as the UK community manager for Digital Workplace forum by ensuring that content is adapted for English speakers and relevant for UK, answering basic questions asked by users. Propose opportunities to promote our services via the platform


Event management: Coordinate and\or assist in events hosted by DWS

Summary of Responsibilities: 

Digital workplace promotion and awareness:

  • Assist in creating communication material that helps to drive digital adoption of our services 
  • Work with DWS teams to help promote DWS services and products using digital communication methods 
  • Use analysis methods such as surveys \ user feedback and from other DWS teams, such as knowledge management, to anticipate users information needs and plan to fulfil those 
  • Adhere to internal DWS communication governance and standards 

Communication and Design:

  • Manage all DWS communications to end users in UK
  • Identify and use multiple communication channels to push information
  • Manage and consult on communications for DWS projects
  • Manage French to English translations
  • Work with comms team in Paris to ensure emails sent centrally to UK users are validated within the UK
  • Work with UK comms team to ensure their standards and policies are adhered to
  • Manage UK\EMEA distribution mailing lists
Community Manager:
  • Ensure that UK needs are managed within the community portal
  • Ensure that French documents are translated and contextualised for English speaking users
  • Help promote DWS UK and EMEA via the community portal
Event management:
  • Coordinate and\or assist events hosted by DWS
  • Contribute to event ideas that help promote our services and tools 
The VIE assignment in a nutshell:

This VIE in London is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see

Your Profile:

Graduate from Engineering school, Business School or University with a master degree in Communications/Marketing/Art/Design or other relevant subject 
You are fluent in English. French is a plus.

The Digital Workplace Services Team is a global team that supports all aspects of the Digital Workplace, this includes the Windows Desktop Environment (OS and Services) , Unified Communications (Trader Telephony, Skype Telephony and Skype for Business, Mobile Telephony and EMAIL) and User Support (IT Helpdesk, Tradefloor Support , Proximity Support).
