Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

•            The Economics department provides coverage of the major market economies, publishing research for clients as well as SG sales and  trading teams

Summary of the key purposes of the role

•            Support the Economics team in producing research

•            Assist the Economics team to communicate economic analysis and insight to SG Clients and front office staff.

•            Engage pro-actively with Sales to ensure the Economics team focuses on areas most relevant to clients.

Summary of responsibilities 

•            Assisting in editing economics research

•            Assisting in constructing and maintaining databases of economic data

•            Assisting in constructing and maintaining economic models

•            Contributing analysis to economics research publications

•            Editing content on the SG economics page on SG Markets

•            Developing own understanding and unique economic analyses

•            Developing own understanding of the role of economic analysis in financial markets

•            Developing strong links with Sales Force

•            Ensuring own understanding of relevant regulatory regime

•            Macroeconomics

•            Statistics/Econometrics

•            Competency with MS Excel

•            Competency with Databases

•            Strong writing skills

•            Demonstrable interest in financial markets

•            Financial economics
