Editorial and Internal Communications Manager
Responsibilities
The role of the Societe Generale Americas Communications department is to promote and protect the bank's image and its strategy on behalf of the Americas Executive Committee, business units, support units, countries and Societe Generale Group, combining specialist knowledge and client proximity worldwide.
Within the overall Communications team, the Editorial and Internal Communications team has several key objectives: promote the corporate strategy of SG Americas while also leveraging elements of our employee value proposition to engage current staff and aid in the recruitment of future staff. In addition to conveying business and/or entity strategic messages, key themes include Diversity & Inclusion, Culture & Conduct and ESG initiatives.
Channels include both internal as well as social media and other external facing channels.
The team works closely with the Americas CEO, the Executive Committee, as well as many internal clients within SG’s business and support units and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
Editorial and Internal COMMs is a valued and trusted resource within the firm. The team has dedicated and talented professionals who know the business inside-out and are well placed to advise and develop content and channels and to execute specific programs in those areas.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In conjunction with the Americas Head of Communications and the Head of Editorial and Internal COMMs, develop and execute the overall internal communications strategy and plans for SG Americas.
- Work directly with various BU/SU leaders, ERG leaders and others within the Diversity & Inclusion, Culture & Conduct and Innovation teams to advise/propose/execute initiatives and messaging to address a broad range of strategic business and engagement topics.
- Be a clear champion of Communications best practices. Lead the firm in new, innovative directions with a strong emphasis on best practices in the digital domain for both internal and external audiences.
- Lead ongoing efforts to increase the effectiveness of internal communications, proposing solutions via traditional (town halls, presentations, newsletters, etc.) and digital (intranet, email, video, podcasts, social collaboration tools, etc.) methods. Proactively seek ways to reduce information overload while improving awareness of key strategic and administrative information.
- Act in both a “directing” and “doing” capacity as it relates to content development. Write, create and edit general internal communication materials (both written and video/audio) and advise on the distribution of those materials via traditional and digital methods.
- In conjunction with the Head of Editorial and Internal Communications, drive key communications channels including Americas intranet and weekly digital newsletters, seeking innovative and engaging ways to connect with employees and improve education around key themes.
- Contribute to establishing the SG Americas Internal Communications function as a center of progressive practices and become a thought and practice leader globally within SG GBN and SG Group COMMs.
- Serve as key team member within the Americas Communications team, collaborating with the Americas Head as well as senior Media Relations, Events and Conferences professionals to lead the overall team.
- Work directly with SG Group and SG GBN corporate communications teams in Paris and other global regions to ensure continuity of programs and messages.
- Serve as project manager for specific projects as well as assigning project management to other team members. Maintain budgets and timelines for each assigned project.

Profile required
SUPERVISION DUTIES:
- Manage relationships with outsourced vendors including agencies, video production vendors and other resources as appropriate. Accountable for the scope of work, budgets and timelines.
- Along with the Head of Editorial and Internal Communications, supervise any interns, VIEs or contractors within the team.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
- Technical Skills: Proficient in internet/intranet development and management, social media tools/applications, video development, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Desired / Plus: Adobe Creative Suite

Qualifications:
Experience Needed:
- 7+ years in communications, marketing or public relations
Desired / Plus:
- Experience with investment banking, brokerage or financial services firm.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
Desired / Plus:
- Advanced degree in communications, marketing, digital, journalism or public relations. MBA or master’s degree in those disciplines a plus.
Languages: (Other than English)
- French not required but a plus

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
