During your VIE mission you will be in charge of these responsibilities :

  • Support the bankers who manage client relationships, source, originate, develop, and often execute the firm’s array of financing solutions and transactions.
  • Assist the global product specialists and bankers with pitches for debt & equity capital markets, specialized new energy finance (renewables, carbon capture, hydrogen, biofuels, etc), interest rate hedging, FX, mergers and acquisitions, and project finance
  • Manage internal planning, budgeting, and compliance reports
  • Learn the role of the banker / financing specialist in advising companies how to finance operations, structure balance sheets and execute transactions.
  • Prepare market research and presentations as needed, on both macro and micro topics
  • Assist in the on-boarding of new clients and ongoing monitoring and management of the existing portfolio, including monitoring of covenant compliance, maintenance of internal credit ratings and LGD, Know Your Customer, etc.
  • Assist the credit team as needed with coordinating the credit approval processes
  • Interact with senior bankers and product lines regarding client pitching and transaction execution
  • Create and maintain industry-specific/client-specific PowerPoint presentations
  • Conduct industry/company-specific research
  • Gather and report sector intelligence from industry sources, such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ

Profile required

Your profile

  • Graduate with a Master’s degree from a Business/Engineering School or University in Finance/Economics/Accounting. 
  • You ideally have previous experience in the Natural Resources, Power, or New Energies sectors and/or exposure to credit analysis.

Required skills :

  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements, cashflows, and corporate finance valuation
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in looking at companies’ financial statements to perform in-depth analysis/valuation
  • Knowledge and interest in the energy industry
  • Self-motivation and strong work ethic to function independently as well as part of a team

  • The candidate should be fluent in conversational and professional English.
  • The candidate should be reliable, quality-oriented, and able to excel in fast-paced, pressure-oriented environments
  • Organization, excellent communication, and analytical skills will be the keys to success in this role.

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

The VIE in Houston are to begin as soon as possible, but you will need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment.  It will last 18 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states oft eh European Economic Space.  For further information, please see www.civiweb.com.
