Equipment Finance Chief Operating Officer

This position is a leadership role and the selected candidate will be a member of the SGEF US Leadership Team.

Work within the SGEF business line to support businesses functions including:

  • Support and supervise the following departments: Credit Underwriting (1LoD), Documentation (Middle Office), Collections/Customer Service (Back Office) and IT.
  • Manage reporting and processing initiatives with both SGUS and SG Paris
  • Manage the control environment process including Permanent Control and RCSA.
  • COO to facilitate business initiatives, processing improvements, focusing on the interaction among Credit, Middle Office and Back Office.
  • Liaise with SGUS and SG Paris groups within the SG group to promote best practices, harmonization, efficiency, resilience, information technology consistency and cost efficiency
  • Liaise with all aspects of resource groups impacting the business, including Risk, Finance Compliance, and Sales
  • Pursue and prioritize projects and budgets.
  • Develop and implement billing, collections, cash posting, customer service and other operational procedures.
  • Work independently to review processes and propose solutions to activities requiring attention.
  • Interface with both internal and external representatives.
  • Ensure business is operating in a properly controlled environment and recommend remediation plans for identified weaknesses.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of users information technology requirements.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities related to monitoring and evaluating the process workflow.
  • Perform analyses and recommend solutions.
  • Analyze risk/reward and cost/benefit.
  • Ensure appropriate communications to project sponsors, project teams, management and other stakeholders. 

Profile Required

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of Leasing/Finance operations, processing and corresponding financial impacts
  • Strong working knowledge lease accounting systems (Specific knowledge of Leaseworks a plus)
  • Advanced skills using various tools for management reporting


  • Proven ability to work within a control environment working in accordance within controls, budgets, and industry guidelines
  • Project management and group leadership background with focus on driving teams toward specific business plan objectives
  • Leadership with the finance industry with a focus on process improvements
  • Direct interaction with business line managers and all resource-type functions
  • Understanding of lease accounting a plus

Experience Needed:

  • 7+ years’ experience in a similar role within financial services
  • Experience in the management of Collections and Customer Service
  • Experience across the range of leasing company functions a plus

Educational Requirements:         

  • Degree or U.S. equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Management         


  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Management preferred

Languages: (Other than English)

  • French a plus
