Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) in Switzerland is made up of corporate and investment banking businesses (market, financing and advisory activities), global transaction banking and the securities business. GBIS has several hundred employees in Switzerland and operates from Geneva and Zurich.

Mission: 

Reporting to the GBIS Director of Communications in Switzerland, the Communications Officer is responsible for:

Contribute to the implementation of the GBIS 360° communication strategy in the country

• Work in synergy with the local businesses on their communication topics in order to promote them in external and internal communication;

• Contribute to the visibility of BFI Suisse’s business lines on the Group’s internal communication media;

• Identify and deploy event initiatives (owner or partner) that support the reputation of BFI’s businesses on the Swiss market;

• Ensure the implementation of the customer event calendar;

• Take part in crisis management actions and act as an intermediary with the business line concerned and the Communication function;

• Attend GBIS 360° Editorial Committee.

Contribute to the deployment of GBIS internal communication strategy in Switzerland

• Contribute to the proper execution of the internal communication plan, including internal events;

• Define and launch actions that strengthen the link between the group’s various activities in Switzerland (GBIS / Societe Generale Switzerland);

Press Relations

• Participate in press coordination and propose initiatives with local media to promote the visibility of the Group when relevant;

• Monitoring and development of the press calendar, media monitoring, press releases, supervision and follow-up of press interviews;

• Follow-up and media training of spokespersons.

Developing digital culture within GBIS in Switzerland

• Encourage the use of digital as much as possible:

-  External: help feed global GBIS corporate social networks;

-  Internal: new channels for exchange, meetings, information sharing;

-  Employee Advocacy programs on social media.

CSR

• Raise awareness of CSR commitments and the Sustainable Finance and Positive Impact theme in all communication initiatives.

Profile required

Studies & experience:

• Academic studies in Communication;

• Minimum of 5 years of communications experience.

Language Skills:

• French advanced level (written and oral) - mandatory;

• English advanced level (written and oral) - mandatory;

• A good command of German would be appreciated.

Technical, operational and soft skills:

• Preferably good knowledge of the banking industry and particularly of large client banking businesses;

• Proficiency in 360° communication techniques (internal, external, digital) and new collaborative work tools;

• Appetite for digital communication media;

• Writing skills: ability to synthesize and organize ideas;

• Understand and manage reputational risks;

• Interpersonal skills: listening, engagement, teamwork, innovation, pragmatism;

• Ability to network with a global team;

• Rigor and organizational skills;

• Strict Respect for confidentiality, compliance and security of information.
