Responsibilities

Your scope of work includes SG GSC located in India and Société Générale European Business Solutions (SG EBS) in Romania.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the provision of 2LOD oversight and challenge on the identification and management of operational risk within the business activities, in line with entity and SG group policies and procedures; and ENTITY’s Risk Appetite Statement.
  • Analyze, document and present upon key operational risk issues and matters. 
  • Identify risk trends and emerging risks through the collation, analysis and reporting on risk data.
  • Wherever required, challenge LOD 1’s control testing of the design and operation of key operational controls to provide confidence in the effectiveness of the entity’s risk framework.
  • Perform risk reviews and investigations, as required.
  • Conduct and present independent risk analysis on risk trends and emerging risks impacting ENTITY
  • Assist in the coordination of the Operational Risk Scenario analysis process including: (i) preparing analysis of relevant external and internal events, (ii) schedule and lead scenario related meetings to identify and assess the potential scenarios, (iii) provide ongoing challenge to the business risk assessments, (iv) minute the meetings and update analysis templates.
  • Review and challenge RCSA done by LOD1
  • Give opinion on the operational impact of significant changes (organization, new products or processes…)
  • Review of significant incidents, with an independent challenge of the root cause analysis, action plan and loss evaluation based on the post mortem prepared by LoD1
  • Ensure the prompt escalation of any ad-hoc risk or emerging issues to local and regional management and review the root cause analysis and mitigating actions.
  • Effective communication and liaison with senior management and key stakeholders, including Board Members and SG Group management.
  • Supporting the compilation of the various risk committees pack in obtaining, reviewing and providing challenge to the various risk reporting and risk data from the business and support functions;
  • Support and deputize for the head of RISQ OPE GSC, as required.
  • Coordinate various transversal risk processes that impact ENTITY and provide a consolidated analysis.
  • Conduct operational risk training, as required.

Profile required

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of operational risk for Wholesale banking, Retail banking, Corporate and trade operations etc. Strong knowledge of Banking operations and related control frameworks.
  • Having good understanding of outsourcing and offshoring processes/ understanding of BCM and BIA will be preferred.
  • Experience with SOX testing. SOX implementation for the various Banking Operations.
  • Skills on evaluation of processes, identified/assessed risks and implemented controls and monitoring mechanism.
  • Knowledge of European regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills primarily Word/PPT/Excel
  • Ability to interpret and analyze the data and transform it into an intelligent information for the stakeholders. Knowledge on tools related to operational risk management.
  • Strong delivery management skills.
  • People management experience

Education:

Preferably an MBA in finance / banking from reputed institute
