Description of the Business Line or Department
The FIC Trading Assistant position is part of the Business Management Office for Global Market divisions. The main purpose of this position is to support the FIC Trading desks in managing their positions and risks through the production of various analysis & reports.
FIC Business Line gives access to a large scope of exposure and opportunities across Interest Rate, Foreign Exchange, Inflation and Multi-asset universes. Supported by extensive research, engineering, trading and e-commerce capabilities, FIC offers strategic insights strategy, flow information, competitive pricing and seamless execution to Société Générale’s clients across rates, credit, FX and emerging markets
Summary of the key purposes of the role
Work closely with FIC head of desks to address special requests on their trading activities
- Support Front Office in the understanding & analysis of the P&L
- Produce & analyse specific risk analysis used for trading risk management
- Work closely with the FIC Trading desks to understand their products, strategies and booking methodologies
Summary of responsibilities
The main missions of FIC Trading Assistants are to:
- Provide FIC Trading desks with ad-hoc risk management metrics
- Support business development of FIC activities
- Drive projects to improve risk management metrics (model roll out, IT systems enhancement)
- Optimize the risk monitoring & operational setup
- Provide a support to the business for regulation topics
Level of Autonomy and Authority
Working under the supervision of reporting manager, a high degree of autonomy as the individual would be expected to operate with minimal supervision, report on a timely basis and escalate issues to management at the appropriate time.
Indirect management and necessity to work directly with the Trading desk and to liaise with numerous teams within the bank inclusive of risk management teams in Paris.
Need to be autonomous and able to report alert to MARK/FIC & TDA management

Good understanding of Investment Banking market activities
Strong knowledge of credit, rates and fx derivatives
Familiarity with counterparty risks (beneficial)
Awareness of current regulatory context and the changes coming
Have a strong risk culture and reliable professional conduct
Proficiency in VBA, Python (beneficial)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Language: English (fluent)/ French (beneficial)
Solution-focused, service-oriented, and proactive
2+ years of experience in a Trading environment, Risk Control, or other related function
Master’s degree in mathematics with specialization in Finance or equivalent
