Description of the Business Line or Department

The FIG corporate finance team focuses on providing strategic advisory services to financial institutions in the context of M&A and ECM transactions. Split across London and Paris, the team covers clients worldwide, with a focus on situations developing across Europe

Summary of the key purposes of the role

  • This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate to get involved in a rapidly changing industry landscape in Europe
  • The candidate will receive a very well rounded perspective of the development of global financial services in this position, in a hard working but friendly atmosphere
  • The position will be based in London within the FIG Corporate Finance team
  • The candidate will be covering multiple financial subsectors and geographies, and will be involved in M&A and ECM execution as well as origination of new deals

Summary of responsibilities 

As a CFI Analyst, he/she will:

  • Assist in origination and execution of transactions across the FI sector
  • Involve in the preparation and pitching of presentations for clients, investors and the broader investment community:
  • Financial statement analysis and financial modelling
  • Company and industry research in the context of the origination and execution of transactions
  • Company valuations mainly using market multiples, M&A multiples and the DDM / DCF and LBO method
  • Help develop transaction structures / structured solutions
  • Keep up to date about M&A, equity and debt related issues
  • Work with other country and products teams as required
  • Efficiently supervises interns and owns responsibility of their work
  • Deliver on due time reliable and accurate work and is able to multi-task
  • Respect all rules to protect firm’s and client’s interests
  • Assists Associates, VPs, Directors and Managing Directors in developing origination strategies for identified target customers. Elaborates marketing pitches on M&A, ECM or acquisitions finance situations
  • Assists Associates, VPs, Directors and Managing Directors in executing M&A, ECM or acquisition finance transactions

Profile required


  • University graduate
  • Internship or work experience in corporate finance / accountancy  / financial services industry
  • Genuine interest in Banks, Insurance, Exchanges and other financial industry sub sectors
  • Top financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Articulate, corporate and well presented
  • Highly motivated and committed to the job
  • Detail oriented and diligent
