The Financial Sponsor Coverage Group (FSC) is a global group. It was created in 2001 to build on the dynamic growth of private equity and with a view to employing the Bank's extensive experience and wide-ranging capabilities in the leveraged buy-out market. A Financial Sponsor is another name for a private equity investment firm. Private equity has attained an evident maturity and Financial Sponsors have evolved into major players in the financial industry. They have also become key clients of SG CIB, generating substantial NBI every year across multiple product lines.
The FSC Group covers traditional private equity firms as well as infrastructure funds, both standalone and within traditional private equity firms. They provide business lines within SG CIB with access to the financial sponsor clients' deal flow, and also assist in cross-selling all of SGCIB's key products to financial sponsors by providing expertise in: Mergers & Acquisitions, Leveraged Finance, Equity Capital Markets, High Yield, Project Finance, Reserve Based Finance, Securitisation, Derivatives & Fixed Income, FX Hedging, LBO Closing and Cash Management, and Commodity Hedging.
