Front Office Software Engineer – Securities and Financing Automated Trading
Responsibilities
Development
- Gather user requirements, and design software solutions which will match business needs from the front office, taking into account cost and delays constraints, agreed with both IT management and head of desk.
- Be proactive by proposing enhancements from which the business/IT can benefit
- Ensure the performance and resiliency of the trading platform
- Be risk aware on both trading and IT perspective
- Implement, test and deploy the software solution within agreed constraints and existing code
Handle level 1&2 support on implemented solutions
- Provide a good reactivity in case of incidents
- Perform necessarily follow up for production incidents, in order to anticipate and detect potential technical issues
The candidate will need to work very closely with various teams:
- Sitting close to front office users in Hong Kong to provide support of the trading platform
- Liaise & interact with worldwide team members and users
- In house IT teams (dev and support) who or in charge of other technical components of the platform
Profile required
Curious, autonomous and passionate, you understand the problems presented and use empirical thinking to identify root causes. You make use of your knowledge and experience to deliver ingenious, simple and efficient solutions.
Minimum qualifications:
- Solid experience with C#, Java or C++
- Quality oriented with emphasis on software design and architecture
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (computer science, mathematics, engineering)
- Ability to work in an integrated team
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with object-oriented designs and common patterns
- Experience in multi-threading and concurrency problematics
- Knowledge of network protocols and socket programming
- Experience in Stocks and Derivatives products
- Experience of software development of trading algorithms and strategies
Nice to have:
- Experience in Equity swap, stock and future products
- Experience in development of low latency trading systems
- Experience in supporting client facing trading systems
- Knowledge of electronic Asian markets specificities or previous experience in market connectivity
- Experience with development on Windows platform

The "Front Office development" team aims to design, implement, maintain, and support electronic trading software solutions for the securities and financing trading desk.
By joining our team, you will work in a multi-cultural environment, encouraging exploration of new technologies and ideas, with a flat management structure, a high exposition and direct impact on trading activity.
You will sit on the trading floor and work closely with the front office users.
