Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has been active in Ireland for 20 years and is a leading player in servicing Irish domiciled and offshore collective investment vehicles. We act locally as fund administrator and depositary for a wide range of international clients who manage schemes from UCITS to AIFs including private equity and real estate structures, hedge funds and special purpose vehicles.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

Supervises the daily valuation workflow of one or more client relationships.

Summary of responsibilities 

  • Supervises the daily valuation workflow of one or more client relationships
  • Ensures timely and accurate results for each of the funds within each relationship
  • Provides guidance to the Fund Accounting Team
  • Ensures technical assistance to Fund Accounting Team
  • Problem solving for the Fund Accounting Team in resolving issues
  • Ensures that all reconciling items are followed up and escalated where necessary
  • Supervises the Fund Accounting Team to ensure that procedures are followed and that the service is at the required standard
  • Ensures that all agreed deliverables are met
  • Be the 1st point of escalation with clients for queries / issues
  • Ensures all fee budgets and performance fees calculations are agreed with the client on an annual basis
  • Communicates issues on a timely basis to management
  • Maintains positive relationships with clients
  • Expands and promotes the image of SGSS to all external contacts
  • Assists all recipients of SGSS services on their needs
  • Ensures that clients receive the best quality of service
  • Proactive in response to (internal and external) client  queries
  • Performs the annual evaluation of the Fund Accounting Team
  • Implement and continually update procedures and processes
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with the ISAE3402 certification
  • Ensure the review of operational procedures
  • Participating and leading on special projects where required
  • Facilitates regular team meetings
  • Monitor operational risks & report key risk to management
  • Keep up to date on any technical and regulatory developments within the business
  • Liaise with the clients / custody back office / clearing broker(s) …etc. - re: various matters/issues (reconciliations, settlements, corporate action ...)

Assists Head of Ops to improve processes to reduce risk and improve productivity

Profile required

Competencies

  • Knowledge of Fund accounting for Ucits and Non-Ucits Funds
  • Strong overall knowledge of the fund industry / regulations (UCITS, AIFMD …etc.)
  • Experience of Private Equity / Real Estate Funds an advantage
  • Solid understanding of fundamentals of financial instruments, stock markets and derivatives.
  • Good understanding of accounting concepts
  • Communication skills
  • Leadership and motivation skills
  • Ability to supervise a team
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of GP3 an advantage
  • Fluent English written and spoken
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Good time management, organisational skills and planning skills
  • Good numeric & analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to understand, address & manage operational risks
  • Good interpersonal skills
