Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Deliver SG CIB's multi-currency Debt Capital Markets strategy in the Americas through thoughtful, proactive, advisory-based client coverage focused on:
    Preparation of client coverage strategy (in coordination with DCM management and investment banking coverage officers), 
    Performance of client coverage, including traveling for pitch meetings in accordance with best market practices (in coordination with the DCM team), 
    Take a leading role in our ESG efforts in the Americas region:
    Coordinate ESG products & pitches with the Debt Capital Markets team focusing on advising clients on identification of eligible sustainable/green projects, setting KPI’s, and embedding these concepts within various financial instruments
    Execute ESG mandates in partnership with senior DCM originator and syndicate group
    Monitor Green/Social/Sustainable/KPI-linked bond market trends
    Coordinate with syndicate to find opportunities created by the SGCIB credit sales and trading businesses, and execution of bond transactions (in coordination with bond syndicate)
    Support in the internal education of ESG debt financing
    Responsible for achieving revenue targets associated with his/her portfolio 
    Responsible for development of the franchise with new and existing clients in the Americas
    Comply with and pay attention to internal reporting and record keeping requirements as well as regulatory and compliance obligations
    Manage and develop key relationships with external clients
    Expand and promote the DCM franchise & ESG expertise
    Participate in the preparation of marketing material (external and internal)
    Participate in the professional development and education of the junior DCM team

Profile required

    Capacity to work in close co-operation with other business lines in order to provide best advice to clients and generate cross-selling
    This includes FX, interest rate derivatives, ratings advisory and ESG advisory
    
    Ability to gain a deep technical understanding and insight into the clients' needs and requirements in compressed timeframes
    Capacity to originate multi-currency and multi-product mandates in a very competitive environment
    Management skills of junior level staff (Interns, Analysts, & Associates)
    Ability to supervise and to manage workload of internal team
    Propensity to support senior originators as appropriate 
    Willingness to travel, including internationally, to meet with clients

Technical Skills & Knowledge
    The ideal candidate will possess significant experience and knowledge in ESG structuring and the execution process. 
    This includes, but is not limited to: identification of eligible projects, KPI’s, relevant transactions, the SPO process, allocation/impact reporting, and marketing to fixed income investors
    Demonstrable success in a front office role, with product expertise in Debt Capital Markets or at SPO provider
    Understanding of current regulatory environment applicable to those who provide investment banking services to clients
    Strong interpersonal and networking skills
    Well-developed people management and team building skills
    Exposure to corporate and financial clients especially in the US, Canada or Latin America
    Detailed understanding of Green/Social/Sustainable financing and/or strong personal appetence for ESG topics preferred, but not required

Qualifications (Experience, Education, Languages)
    5-7+ years of experience in Debt Capital Markets/Investment banking focused on ESG or an SPO provider
    Bachelor's degree required 
    Relevant Accounting, Economics, Finance and Mathematic courses as well as skills and concepts desired
    Experience in advising corporate and/or financial client issuers
