Responsibilities

This is an opportunity to join an expanding team and to work in a fast-paced environment.  Our clients span all major industries and include sovereign and financial issuers in addition to our core corporate client base. The new hire will be responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of fixed income capital market transactions, working with senior members of the team, and with the expectation of steadily increasing autonomy.  This position will provide an opportunity to gain experience within our capital markets business and to interact across investment banking and trading divisions.

 

The DCM IB Analyst will research geopolitical trends as well as key developments in the bond markets across the US, Europe and Asia.  They will also be responsible for the preparation of internal and external market update material.  


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Conduct all business professionally and in compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.  Conduct all business ethically and in a manner consistent with SG’s values and code of conduct

 

Provide support to senior DCM originators and their team in client management and execution

 

Assist in identifying funding needs and strategic opportunities across the global bond markets, identifying trends and originating unique ideas (acquisition financing, liability management, sustainability and green bonds, etc.)

 

Manage the preparation of marketing materials for client meetings, preparing and presenting internal committee memos, and ensuring seamless execution

 

Interact with DCM clients—keeping clients apprised of market trends, new issuance, and how headlines impact them 

Review a broad range of financial reports and identify impact to our clients

 

Take responsibility in deal execution by assisting in documentation, due diligence etc., and/or setting up roadshow logistics

 

Supporting further product development within the DCM team and other business lines, the coverage unit and investment banking to create synergies with the investment bank and ensure that SG’s product offerings are the best possible

 

Ensure all key marketing information is disseminated to the client base in an appropriate timeframe 

Profile Required

Although experience in the Debt Capital Markets, specifically Origination, is preferred, it is not a pre-requisite. Broad profiles will be considered, especially if it is believed the candidate has a financial background and some knowledge of the international bond market

Attention to detail 

 

Excellent analytical skills – significantly with respect to numerical data and credit analysis

 

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with strong transaction modelling skills

 

Understanding of global rates and credit markets

 

Ability to gain a deep technical understanding and insight into the clients' needs and requirements in compressed timeframes

 

Capacity to originate multi-currency and multi-product mandates in a very competitive environment

Debt Capital Markets group at Société Générale (“SG”) is hiring for an IB Analyst position on the US Investment Grade Debt Capital Markets Origination team (“DCM”) in New York.  The DCM team is responsible for advising the bank’s clients on topics related to debt issuance, liability management, and corporate finance topics (e.g. M&A financing).  The DCM team is also responsible for execution of bond deals, working with bond syndicate, in Dollar, Euros and other currencies.  Other key partners of DCM include legal, compliance, credit sales & trading, strategic acquisition finance, and interest rate derivatives teams.
