Responsibilities

The role of the Senior Associate position in the Reserve Based Finance Team will focus on:

•    Performing the transaction execution responsibilities for the Reserve Based Finance portfolio (project and corporate modeling, credit analysis, financial analysis, industry and transaction risks assessment, interacting with the Technical Team, i.e., engineering team, to incorporate the technical assessment in the transaction credit package, etc.);
•    On-going monitoring and management of the existing portfolio, including monitoring of covenants compliance, maintenance of internal credit ratings and LGD, Know Your Customer requirements, assessment of transaction profitability metrics;
•    Managing admin requirements including internal pricing, client on-boarding, permanent supervision, etc;
•    Assisting the Senior Bankers with the origination and execution of transactions, including assisting with the day-to-day client relationship management;
•    Assisting the Senior Bankers in the preparation of pitches, marketing materials, indicative Term Sheets, and attending alongside Bankers client or prospect meetings;
•    Liaising both internally, with risk management and other business lines, and externally, with industry peers and other industry organizations, to proactively answer questions about our portfolio, promote new business for the bank, further the SG brand, and stay abreast industry and market trends relevant to our business.

Profile required

Technical Skills:
•    4+ years Oil & Gas and/or banking experience; specific RBF experience desired
•    Exposure to corporate clients in the Americas
•    Strong financial modelling skills  
•    Excellent understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements, cashflows and corporate finance valuation. 
•    Strong credit analysis skills (formal Credit training is a plus)
•    Capacity to understand complex financial structures and familiarity with credit and related legal documentation
•    Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
•    Computer literacy (MS Office)

The Reserve Based Finance business at Société Générale (“SG”) falls under the Energy Group in the Natural Resources Division, and finances and provides advisory services to Upstream E&P and Midstream/Energy Infrastructure clients in the Americas, with a focus on offshore project and corporate lending transactions.
