Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide level 1/2 support to users of the Global Market activities’ information system, focusing on Securities Financing and Delta One business activities. This entails systems ranging from order passing to bookkeeping and position management. Users requests and incidents flows will be managed by gathering the information from the different communication channels (trading floor live interaction; phone; other). IT Support services will be relying on ITIL framework and core processes.
  • Lead investigations to resolve problems independently, have the technical ability to troubleshoot and debug code, search log files. Will have strong Python, UNIX and SQL skills to check system errors and generate reports, scripting abilities to assist with the platform extensions, automate monitoring, error detection, participate with the DEV in building solutions or improving the core chain used by the business activity.
  • When not working on production he/she will be doing projects that may involve development, automation and research(technologies or ways of working) that will benefit the team and business. Ideally 70% of time will be spent doing support and 30% on projects.
  • Formalize end users’ day to day problems, assess the criticality/priority of these problems and treat them accordingly. Escalate to the next level if needed, give effective and regular feedback to the end users. Transform problems to user stories and add them to the product backlog for prioritisation and task building.
  • Report regularly on issues to direct management, follows department’s processes closely on incident, problem and request management, adheres to the code of conduct.
  • Use his/her technical skills assist in building effective monitoring systems by using the information system’s monitoring tools. Ensures tools are in line with our needs and takes initiatives to improve their efficiency.
  • Engage and improve the Follow-the-Sun model and leverage on our global setup working closely with our Paris and New York offices.
  • Estimate the risks and opportunities in our day to day job and take initiatives to reduce the risks and improve our efficiency. Provides support to other peers when necessary and train the new joiners on the perimeter.

Profile required

  • BSC in Computer Science degree or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years experience in trading floor support in required.
  • Good knowledge of both UNIX and Windows environment.
  • Good scripting skills in SQL, Python and Unix.
  • Development experience in Java and Kotlin is not a must but an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of distributed monitoring technologies such as Elastic stack, Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience working with container and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Good knowledge on Global Markets trading and booking activities with previous knowledge on financial products .is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of cloud computing technologies and offerings.
  • Able to manage pressure by accompany business requests while sitting on the trading floor.
  • Good communication and organizational skills, analytical mind.

Department Description

As part of the Front Office IT department the SFD1 team oversees development and support of tools used by Delta 1 and Security Finance Traders, Sales, and Operations.

The team operates in DevOps model and is based in the dealing room interacting daily with Front and Middle Officers. We work together as a team with the developers and other support analysts, backup each other, act in the best interest of the team, and bring new ideas. We also work closely with all the applicative and infrastructure IT teams (Support, Development, Business Analyst, Infrastructure analysts) to ensure the day to day efficiency/stability of the IT information system.

The succsssful candidate will have the full autonomous to work with end users, understand client requests and issues, to provide them with the expected level of support.. You should be open-minded and courious to help rationalize and improve the existing systems. You could be creative, innovative and welcome to propose better solutions whenever possible.  You would be aware and courious about new ways of working, explore them, and share potential benefits with the team.
