Responsibilities

ABOUT THE JOB:

Société Générale’s Client Lifecycle and Digital Group (CLD) acts as a transversal client group for all B2B clients and overseas operations and IT associated with the full Client Lifecycle including onboarding, reviews and offboarding. CLD is responsible for implementing and assuring consistent application of Société Générale’s local and global KYC Policies and procedures, FATCA and any other regulatory requirements associated with on boarding a new client and performing annual periodic reviews of existing clients.

The KYC Analyst is responsible for utilizing the existing Wholesale KYC Policy & Procedures, while performing KYC analysis and approval for all allocated clients (except Private Banking). This team provides services to Wholesale business for existing clients portfolio.  This includes population management oversight through the Americas Control Tower, KYC periodic reviews and occasionally in coordination with Client Outreach Analyst (COA). 

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?

The prospective Analyst is expected to have a solid background in Customer Due-diligence (CDD) and general working knowledge on performing KYC reviews on a variety of client types, this includes negative news and Political Exposed Persons (PEP) assessments, FinCEN-related controls, you’re your daily tasks will consist of:

  • Strong working knowledge on the processes surrounding Customer Due Diligence / Enhance Due Diligence & Client Outreach Support
  • Possesses a general knowledge on AML/CFT/BSA and OFAC/SDN regulations and SG policies and procedures
  • Responsible for conducting Negative News & Sanctions due-diligence and screenings on assigned clients.
  • General knowledge regarding entity types and provide examples of public resources to obtain documentation readily available
  • Ability to articulate intelligibility the business need with the front office and Global stakeholders
  • Ability to foster partnerships locally and globally with other KYC departments and business lines
  • Ability to decipher whether the information obtained from the clients/Business Lines are correct and in good form based on procedural standards
  • Ability to maintain high quality standard and high productivity (including production of high-quality KYC Memos when applicable)
  • Competency to perform Quality Control analysis and validation (including accountability for timely progress and completion, coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Escalates issues to the manager and to senior stakeholders when required.
  • Able to brings his or her knowledge/experiences to the local studies and projects of processes optimization and / or implementation of new initiatives
  • Communicates with the Manager/Team Lead daily about the state of the business.

Skills and Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Ability to apply and challenge principles of risk-based KYC, client risk assessment and the products used in a wholesale banking and institutional broker dealer business
  • Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Competencies

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to partner locally and globally with Compliance, other KYC departments in SG, and business lines
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Inquisitive nature and ability to spot issues, and address conflicts and escalate issues where appropriate
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to meet time commitments
  • Ability to work independently and use judgment to address all issues and concerns are managed properly and timely
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to convey results of analysis in well written KYC memos

Experience Needed

  • 6+ years’ experience in the Financial Services industry in a KYC or AML capacity.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or economics related subjects
  • ACAMS Certification a plus

Languages (other than English)

  • Proficiency in French, Spanish or Portuguese a plus
