Responsibilities

1. Animation

  • Spread the culture and best practices of operational risks/permanent control within the department.

  • Contribute to the preparation and animation of the Internal Control Coordination Committee and various other Operational Risk Committees within Global RISQ

  • Governance with various actors of operational risks (other RISQ departments (local and onshore), Level 2 controllers, auditors, Information Security Managers)

2. Production

-          Level 1 permanent control:

  • Deploy Level 1 controls (L1C) framework including control set-up, challenging business process controls and independent assessment / review of control design and execution

  • Frame necessary actions to upgrade the set of L1C control plan with a continuous focus on control automation and improvement 

  • Review and update of blueprint and process cartography for the purpose of L1C monitoring

  • Produce Permanent Supervision synthesis and produce various reporting and follow-up on permanent supervision, action plans, etc. 

-          Operational risk management:

  • Ensure periodic monitoring of permanent control and operational risks including losses and incidents, business continuity, IS security, KPI & KRI for Risk Committee, etc.

  • Administration and reporting of Losses and incidents including data breaches, etc.

  • Administration of operational risk tools (e.g. GPS, Kart, MyActions, Caroline...)

  • Keep Serval cartography up to date (anti-fraud controls)

  • Supervise the updating of business continuity plans and related activities (emergency site testing, etc.)

  • Ensure the centralized monitoring of the stock of recommendations assigned to RISQ by internal audit bodies (IGAD/AUD, IGAD/INS, but also level 2 control: RISQ/MRM, CTL functions from CPLE/DFIN/RISQ and external (ECB, FED, Auditors), ensuring that teams respond diligently (delays and quality of responses); be able to give a transversal view to management and raise timely alerts

-          Partner with the Oversight function and shadow the role of Outsourced Services Correspondent / Oversight (contractual monitoring, KPI, incidents…)

  3. Projects

  • Participate in projects related to permanent control and operational risks

  • Contribute and lead efficiency and automation projects

Profile required

  • 8-10 years in Operational risk & control management  

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Operational risk management framework and various risk related topics like control design and evaluation, incident management and reporting, regulatory compliance, information security, audit missions, risk reporting, etc. 

  • Analytical skills, ability to evaluate and challenge data trends 

  • Reporting skills including developing and usage of business tools and dashboards for management reporting (data visualization tools knowledge is mandatory) 

  • Project management 

  • Good influencing and negotiation skills  

  • Good understanding of outsourced service agreements and service monitoring/reporting 

  • Excellent team spirit and collective mindset  

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to work with various business stakeholders at all levels 

  • Sound communication and presentation skills 

  • A mindset of continuous improvement and innovation 

  • Business knowledge and understanding of Market and Credit risk is an added advantage
