Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess database/system performance and fix the problems that arise.
  • Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning.
  • Provide guidance and support to Application Developers.
  • Provide end-to-end technical support and problem resolution.
  • Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.
  • Schedule and perform regular server maintenance.
  • Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance.
  • Handle a transversal role in the business line.
  • Hands-on on Agile methodology and the CD practices.

Technical Expertise:

  • Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Must have RAC knowledge and work experience on all recent versions of Oracle.
  • Excellent in Performance tuning at Database and Application level.
  • Well verse in creating autonomous database backups and recoveries.
  • Expertise in RMAN, hot and cold backups.
  • Monitoring database using OEM.
  • Expertise in concepts of Database lock, space management, export and import of the database etc.
  • Expert in SQL and PL/SQL coding.
  • Tuning of Oracle objects.
  • Optimization of SQL query.
  • Create accounts for users and assign security levels.
  • Oracle work experience on UNIX Flavors is Must.
  • Must have good troubleshooting skills.
  • Prefer to have experience on Oracle Dataguard, Oracle Grid, ASM.
  • Support on production DB.
  • Strong knowledge of source control and release management tools.

Profile required

Typical profile would be someone who has been a PL/SQL developer for few years and eventually played a  dba role and has troubleshooted application issues including performance tuniing abilities.
